Always unplug the appliance when left unattended and before moving, assembly, taking apart or cleaning.
Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any
control to off, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool down before handling any
parts, putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter and do not let it get in contact with hot
surfaces or water.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is provided to reduce risks resulting from beco-
ming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
longer detacable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
The marked electrical rating of the of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be
at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord;
The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
Use and place the product on a flat, stable and heat resistant surface.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
Do not place the appliance or power cord close to or on top of hot electric or gas cookers.
In case of failure and/or malfunctioning of the appliance, turn it off and do not tamper with it. Do not disas-
semble the appliance due to any reason.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the aplliance malfunctions, or has been
damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or
adjustment.
Do not use the appliance if it has fallen down or if it shows signs of damage, water leakage or defects that
alter its operation.
If the brewing chamber is damaged, it must be replaced by customer service (see p. 30) to avoid any risk.
The use of accessories which were not provided or recommended by the manufacturer may lead to fire,
electric shock, or serious personal injury.
