Why won't my Buffalo Tools GENSD7 Portable Generator start?
    • J
      Jonathon HernandezAug 1, 2025
If your Buffalo Tools Portable Generator engine won't start, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the engine switch is set to "on." Next, check the diesel fuel level and add fuel if it's low. Also, verify the oil level and add or replace oil if needed. Make sure the generator is on a level surface to prevent the low oil shutdown from triggering. If the spring-loaded decompression lever has closed the exhaust valve, open the top panel, push down on the decompression lever, and reinstall the top panel. Finally, if the fuel is contaminated or old, drain it and add new diesel fuel.

What to do if my Buffalo Tools GENSD7 Portable Generator runs but has no electrical output?
    • D
      Douglas KellyAug 10, 2025
If your Buffalo Tools Portable Generator runs but provides no electrical output, check if the circuit breaker is off and flip it to "on". Also, make sure the reset button is "on" by pushing it. Try a different extension cord to rule out bad connecting wires or cables. Disconnect the device and try connecting another device, in case the connected electrical device is faulty. Inspect and tighten the nuts that secure the wiring behind the control panel or at the end of the generator. Visually inspect the carbon brushes or AVR to ensure they are in contact with the two copper bands on the rotor and replace them if necessary.

Why does my Buffalo Tools Portable Generator run but not support all devices?
    • S
      Steven AdamsAug 21, 2025
If your Buffalo Tools Portable Generator runs but doesn't support all connected electrical devices, it might be overloaded. Reduce the number of connected devices to stay within the generator's rated wattage. Another cause might be a short in one of the connected devices; disconnect any faulty electrical loads. Lastly, a dirty air filter can cause this issue, so clean or replace the air filter.
