F3DM Owner’s Manual
NOTICE
A large amount of unburned
gases owing into the three–way
catalytic converter may cause
it overheat and create a fire
hazard. To prevent this and other
dangers, please follow below
instructions:
y
Only use lead-free gasoline.
y
Do not drive the car when the fuel
level is extremely low; running
out of fuel may cause the engine
to misre and overload on three-
way catalytic converter.
y
Please do not leave the car
running idle.
y
Avoid high-speed driving for a
long time when the power is
extremely low.
y
Do not push or pull the car for
starting.
y
Do not turn off ignition while
driving.
y
Keep your engine in good running
order. Malfunctions in the engine
electrical system, electronic
ignition system or fuel system
could cause an extremely high
temperature.
y
If the engine becomes difficult
to start or stalls frequently,
please take your car for a check
immediately.
y
To ensure that the three–way
catalytic converter and the
entire emission control system
operate properly, your car
must receive the periodic
inspections required by the BYD
Maintenance Schedule (please
refer to Maintenance Schedule in
Chapter 6).
Engine Exhaust Warning
NOTICE
y
Avoid inhaling the engine exhaust
gas.
y
Make sure the exhaust system
has no leakage or loose
connections. The system should
be checked regularly. If you hit
something or hear abnormal
exhaust noise, have the exhaust
system checked immediately.
y
Do not run the engine at HEV
mode in garage or closed space
except for the time needed to
drive the vehicle in or out. It’s
very dangerous if the exhaust
gases cannot escape.
y
Please lock up the trunk while
driving. Open or unclosed trunk
or rear door may cause exhaust
