Do not dismount parts of SRS
without permission.
The airbag SRS is designed to activate
when the vehicle sustains sufficient
longitudinal deceleration in severe
(usually frontal) collisions where the
forward deceleration of the vehicle
exceeds the designed threshold level.
The airbags did not inate in a collision
does not mean that something is wrong
with the system . Rather, it means the
forces were not sufficient to cause
activation. Airbags can inate in frontal
and near frontal collisions, but not
rollover, side impact, or rear impacts.
Always wear your seat belts properly.
System Components
The SRS consists of the following
components and their locations are
shown in the illustration:
1. SRS warning light
2. Airbag module for front passenger (
airbag and inator)
3. SRS electronic control unit (ECU)
4. Airbag module for driver (airbag and
inator)
5. Impact sensor
SRS ECU consists of a sang sensor
and airbag sensor.
SRS Airbag Warning Indicator
SRS Airbag system is monitored by
ECU and integrated self-diagnosis
function. Its status is indicated by
warning indicator on the instrument
panel.
●Airbag warning light will be on for
about 5 seconds after turning on
ignition switch ,which indicates that the
system is normal.
This warning indicator monitors SRS
airbag ECU, impact sensor, inflator,
warning light, connecting wire and
power supply. (For details, please refer
to “Maintenance Indicator lights and
Warning Buzzer” in Section 1-5)
