  • Igniter: Piezoelectric igniter (requires 1 AA battery). Available in self-grounding (one prong) and externally grounded (two prongs) styles.
  • Included Components (varies by model): Burner, black propane hose with regulator, flexible metal gas line, valve assembly, piezoelectric igniter, appropriate orifices for LP/NG, and decorative fire glass.

Usage Features

  • Outdoor Use Only: The appliance is strictly for outdoor use in a well-ventilated space. It must not be installed in an enclosed structure or used for cooking.
  • Placement: Must be placed on a flat, stable surface, adjacent to the gas supply line or LP gas supply cylinder. Avoid locations where it may get excessively wet or submerged.
  • Gas Connection: Detailed instructions for connecting to either LP gas cylinders (with a supplied regulator and hose assembly) or natural gas lines (requiring a conversion kit and specific orifice). All connections must be tightened securely and checked for leaks using a non-corrosive leak-check solution.
  • Ignition: Features a piezoelectric igniter for electronic lighting. Users must depress and hold the igniter button while turning the control valve to the "ON" position.
  • Flame Adjustment: For liquid propane installations, an air shutter can be adjusted to prevent sooting and control flame appearance. For natural gas, the air shutter should be in a closed position.
  • Shut-off: To extinguish, turn the control valve to "OFF" and close the valve on the propane tank (if applicable).
  • Initial Break-in: During the first few hours of operation, an odor may be present. A continuous burn on high for three to four hours may be required to dissipate this odor.
  • Safety Warnings: Numerous warnings throughout the manual emphasize the risks of fire, explosion, asphyxiation, and burns. Users are instructed not to touch hot surfaces, keep children away, and maintain clearances from combustibles.

Maintenance Features

  • Annual Inspection: A qualified service technician should perform an annual check-up.
  • Regular Cleaning:
    • Remove decorative glass and vacuum/wipe the burner as needed, exercising caution.
    • Keep the burner clean; it's imperative for proper operation.
  • Component Inspection:
    • Inspect the burner assembly for warping, corrosion, plugged ports, or deterioration. Replace if necessary.
    • Check the LP gas cylinder hose for damage and replace if necessary.
    • Verify the air shutter area is clean and in the correct position for the gas type.
    • Inspect the orifice for soot, dirt, or corrosion.
    • Verify manifold and inlet pressures and adjust the regulator as required.
  • Gas Connection Checks: Regularly verify all gas connections are tight and leak-free.
  • Igniter Maintenance:
    • Ensure the piezoelectric igniter is properly grounded.
    • Check that the ignition or ground wire is plugged in.
    • Verify the igniter tip is within 1/8" of the grounding probe; gently bend if needed to achieve the correct gap.
  • Storage: If stored indoors, the appliance must be disconnected from its fuel supply. LP gas cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of reach of children, with threaded valve plugs tightly installed.
  • Protective Covers: The use of a coordinating burner cover and protective cover during the off-season is highly recommended to keep the table and burner looking new and ensure extended trouble-free operation.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: A dedicated section provides common symptoms, possible causes, and corrective actions for issues like the fire pit not lighting, low flames, blue flames, metallic noise, fire glass cracking, and igniter problems.
  • Warranty: A limited one-year warranty covers defects in material and workmanship. Stainless steel parts and assemblies carry a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty is voided by improper installation, modification, or use of damaged components.
