EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL PROJECTS USING THIS METER
Use your AccuMASTER XTto find leaks in drywall, carpeting, flooring
or ceilings caused by damaged roofs, flooding, burst pipes or
underground seepage. Find moisture early to avoid moisture-related
problems like mold and rotting wood.
You can also use your AccuMASTER XTto monitor moisture content
to determine the tangential, radial and longitudinal shrinkage of wood
for your woodworking projects and material readiness.
Buying Lumber and Wood —When purchasing
lumber for building projects or woodworking, make sure
your wood is dry enough to avoid shrinkage, cracking,
splitting or warping.
Firewood —Check to see if the wood is dry enough
to burn in stoves or fireplaces.
Prior to painting, tiling, varnishing or
wallpapering —Determine if your surface is ready
for application.
Gardening —Use the meter to monitor soil moisture
conditions to ensure healthy gardens
USER TIPS
Gently push the measuring pins into the material to be measured. Do not
use excessive force. Do not bang or forcefully push the pins into hard
materials such as concrete.
To more accurately measure moisture below the surface of hard,
non-porous materials, drill two small holes at the same width as the pins
and no deeper than the length of the pins. Then touch the tips of the
measuring pins to the bottom of the holes.
Always keep the measuring pins clean and replace the protective cover
when not in use.
