What to do if Can-Am DS250 engine turns over but fails to start?
- TTiffany McgeeJul 26, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle engine turns over but doesn't start, begin by checking the fuel tank level and ensure you're using the correct starting procedure, especially regarding the choke. Make sure the ignition switch is in the ON position and the choke is not applied. The transmission lever should be in NEUTRAL. Fully press and hold the throttle lever while starting the engine, and release it as soon as the engine starts, avoiding racing the engine. Clean the spark plug cap area and remove it. Remove the spark plug, crank the engine several times, and install a new or cleaned and dried spark plug. Check for fuel in the engine oil; if present, replace the engine oil. Finally, check the fuel tank level and ensure the fuel valve is set to ON (or try RES).
