STORAGE AND PRESEASON PREPARATION
Storage
If the v eh icle will not be ridden for at
least four months, such as during the
winter, proper storage is necessary to
keep the vehicle in good condition.
BRP r ecommends you have your au-
thorized Can-Am roadster dealer, re-
pair shop, or person of your own choos-
ing to fully prepare your vehicle for stor-
age. Or, at your convenience, you can
follow the basic procedures below.
To Prepare the Vehicle for Storage:
1. Inspect vehicle and have your au-
thorized Can-Am roadster dealer,
repair shop, or p erso n of you own
choosing for maintenance, re-
pair, or replaceme nt if necessary.

mation about warranty claims.
2. Change the engine oil and filter.
Seek service from an authorized
Can-Am roadster dealer, repair
shop, or person of your own choos-
ing for maintenance, repair, or re-
placem ent.
3. Check engine coolant, brake fluid
and clutch flu id levels.
4. Fill the fuel tank, add fuel stabi-
lizer and run the engine to p revent
the tank from rusting and the fuel
from deteriorating. Strictly follo w
instructions on fuel stabilizer con -
tainer.
5. Inflate all tires to their recom-
mended pressure.
6. Clean the vehicle.
7. Lubricate all control cables and
latches, pivoting points of all levers
and lub rication points of front sus-
pensions.
8. Close and latch all storage compart-
ments.
9. Cover the vehicle with a permeable
materials (e.g., tarpaulin). Avoid us-
ing p lastic or similar n on-breathing,
coated materials that restrict air
flow and allow heat and moisture
to accumulate.
10.Store the vehicle in a dry area, away
from sunlight, with a small amount
of daily temperature variation.
11.Slow charge the b attery once a
month at the recommended charg-
ing rate of 2 A. It is not neces sary to
remove the battery.
Preseason Preparation
All Models
After a storage period, vehicle must be
prepared and inspected.
To Remove the Vehicle from Stor-
age:
1. Uncover and clean the vehicle.
2. Charge the battery if needed.
3. Perform a pre-ride inspection, then
test-ride the vehicle at low speed.
RT-S and RT LTD SE6 Models
1. Release the latch underneath the
floorboard.
2. Pivot the floorboard by manually
pushing down its front part.
3. Flip back the floorboard until it
latches. The m echanism must
work freely.
