Why does my Canon PowrShot G5 Digital Camera show a 'LENS - ZOOM LENS ERROR'?

If your Canon Digital Camera displays a 'LENS - ZOOM LENS ERROR', it might be because the lens barrel was extended with the lens cap still attached. Remove the lens cap and restart the camera. If that doesn't work, simply try restarting the camera.
