Why is my Canon Digital Camera not shooting?
    • R
      rachel05Aug 26, 2025
Your Canon Digital Camera might not be shooting because it is in Playback mode. Change to the Shooting mode. Another reason could be that the flash is charging. Wait until the flash charges; you can press the shutter button when the indicator next to the viewfinder lights a steady orange. Finally, the CF card could be full. Insert a new CF card or download images to your computer and erase them from the card to free up space.

What to do if Canon POWERSHOT A75 rechargeable batteries do not charge?
    • L
      Lisa LewisAug 27, 2025
If your Canon Digital Camera's rechargeable batteries are not charging in the separately sold battery charger, make sure that batteries were placed in the charger in the correct direction. Also check for poor electrical contact between batteries and the charger. Be sure to set batteries firmly into the charger and ensure that the power cord is firmly connected to the charger and plugged into the power outlet. Clean dirty battery terminals with a dry cloth before charging. Finally, the batteries may have exceeded their life; replace all 4 batteries with new ones.

Why does my Canon Digital Camera lens not retract?
    • T
      taylormarciaSep 13, 2025
If the lens on your Canon Digital Camera will not retract, it could be because the battery cover or CF card slot cover was opened with the camera on. Close the CF card slot cover or battery cover, then turn off the camera. It could also be because the battery cover or CF card slot cover was opened while the camera was recording to the CF card (a warning signal sounds). Close the covers, and then use the ON/OFF button to turn the power off correctly.

Why do the batteries drain so fast on my Canon POWERSHOT A75 Digital Camera?
    • M
      Mrs. Jennifer BrownSep 5, 2025
If the batteries in your Canon Digital Camera are draining too fast, make sure you are using the recommended type: unused AA-size alkaline or Canon AA-size NiMH batteries. Colder temperatures can reduce battery capacity, so keep batteries warm if shooting in cold environments. Try cleaning the battery terminals with a dry cloth. If the batteries haven't been used in over a year, try several charging cycles to restore performance. Finally, if the batteries have reached the end of their life, replace all four with new ones.

Why are my Canon POWERSHOT A75 Digital Camera shots too dark?
    • L
      Lauren RosalesSep 2, 2025
If your subject comes out underexposed (too dark) when using your Canon Digital Camera, it could be due to insufficient light for shooting. Set the flash on. Alternatively, if the subject is darker than the surroundings, set exposure compensation to a positive value or use the spot metering function. Also, the subject may be too far for the flash to reach. When the flash is used, the distance between lens and subject should not exceed 4.2 m (14 ft.) at wide angle and 2.5 m (8.2 ft.) at telephoto. Try raising the ISO sensitivity.
