Bounce
By pointing the ash head toward a ceiling or wall, you can utilize
the reection of the ash light o󰀨 the surface for ash photography,
making it possible to soften the shadows of the subject for a more
natural-looking shot. This shooting technique is called “Bounce ash
photography”.
Setting the Bounce Direction

You can turn the ash head as shown. Shooting with the ash head
extended is recommended.

If the ceiling or wall for bouncing the ash light on is too far away,
shooting with the appropriate exposure may not be possible since the
bounced ash light may not reach the subject.

If your shots are too dark, either reduce the aperture value (f/number) to
open the aperture, or increase the ISO speed and try again.

Select a ceiling or wall that is close to a white color for bouncing the ash
light o󰀨 for high reectance. If the bounce surface is not white, a color
cast may result in the picture or shooting with the appropriate exposure
may not be possible since the bounced ash light may not reach the
subject.
