  If the compressor and fan of your Carrier Air Conditioner's outdoor unit won't start, there could be several reasons. First, check the main power connections to ensure the unit is energized. Verify that the main switch is in the ON position and that the main switch fuses haven't blown; if they have, replace them. Also, the compressor cycling protection might be active, so wait for 3 minutes. A pressure switch might be open, so check and eliminate the cause. Finally, ensure that electrical connections are not loose or incorrect; if they are, check and repair them.
