7. Apply grease to the sealing lip on the shaft seal, 1,
and press it into place on the right side of the
housing.
NOTICE: The seal must be pressed into place with
a seal installing tool or suitable substitute. The seal
must be flush with the side of the housing, and square
to the shaft. If the seal is driven in with a hammer, it
will be distorted and leak, causing drive module
failure.
8. Apply sealant to the threads of the check plug, 1,
and install it into the housing. Pour 300 ml (10 oz)
of Case Akcela 135 H EP 80W90 gear oil through
the top opening into the module housing.
Reinstall the drive module on the cutter bar as
described in “Drive Module - Installation” in this
section.
