9. Remove the outer belt shield by removing the four
locknuts, 1, and flat washers. Back off on the
spring adjuster nut, 2, to remove tension on the
belt, and remove the belt from the sheaves.
10. Loosen the inner shield by removing the jam nuts
and left side studs, 1, and the cap screw, 2, and
flat washer. It may be possible to slide the shield
off the gearbox shaft and pivot it around the drive
sheave jack shaft to get it out of the way.
11. Remove the two 3/4 inch Grade 8 cap screws, 3,
and flat washers retaining the rear pivot arm to the
lift arm.
12. Block the cutter bar and loosen the center bolt, 4,
and washer on the bevel gearbox input shaft.
Loosen the two jam nuts and set screws, 1, that
retain the sheave to the bevel gearbox input shaft.
NOTICE: There are two holes in the sheave outer
groove to provide access to the set screws with a
long hex key wrench.
Install a puller to remove the sheave from the
gearbox input shaft. Remove the key from the
shaft after removing the sheave.
