Run-inrecommendations
Avoidoverloadingtheengine.Operatingintoohigha
gearunderheavyloadmaycauseexcessiveengineover-
loading.Overloadingoccurswhentheenginewillnotre-
spondtoathrottleincrease.
Donotoperatewithoutaloadontheengine.Thiscanbe
asharmfultotheengineasoverloading.Varythetypeof
operationcarriedoutsotheengineissubmittedtoamix
ofheavyandlightloadsduringtherunning-inperiod.
Usethelowergearratioswhentowingheavyloadsand
avoidcontinuousoperationatconstantenginespeeds.
Operatingthetractorintoolowagearwithalightload
andhighenginespeedwillwastefuel.Selectthecorrect
transmissionratioforeachparticularoperationtosave
fuelandreduceenginewear.
Checktheinstrumentsandwarninglightsfrequentlyand
keeptheradiatorandoilreservoirstoppeduptotherec-
ommendedlevels.
Fuelsavingtips
1.Storefuelinproperlycleaned,rustandcontaminant
freecontainers.
2.Alwaysllthereservoirtankattheendofeachday
toreduceovernightcondensationofmoistureinthe
air,soastoavoiddamagetothefuelsystem.
3.Fuelltersshouldbereplacedasperrecommended
timescheduleasthelteringcapacityisnotretained
afterthisspeciedtime.Itmayallowharmfulcontam-
inationanddamagethefuelinjectionsystem.Follow
themaintenancescheduletodrainthewaterfromthe
ltersandcleanthesupplypumplter.
4.Alwaysusegenuinefuellters.SeeyourCASEIH
dealer.
5.Repairdieselleaks,ifany,immediately.
6.Dirtparticlesthatmayentertheenginecausepre-
maturewearofliningandpistonrings.Thiscauses
lossofpowerandexcessiveconsumptionofengine
oilandfuel.Makesurethattherearenoleaksfrom
thehosesandthatthesealoftheairlterchamberis
ingoodcondition.Keepthehoseclampstightened.
7.Followtherun-inprocedureprovidedinthismanual
toachieveoptimalperformanceofyourtractor.
8.Ifyoukeeptheenginerunningatidlespeedunnec-
essarilyforlongperiods,thiswastesfuel.
9.Donotrestyourfootontheclutchpedalasthiswill
causeclutchslippage,lossofenginepowerandin-
creasedfuelconsumption.Maintainthespecied
playintheclutchpedal.
10.Alwaysdrivethetractorinthepropergear.Usea
lowergeartodrivedownaslopeandusethebrakes
sparingly.
11.Maintainthepropertirepressuresforeldworkas
wellasforroadwork.Referthetyrepressurechart
giveninthismanual.Wornouttyrescausewheel
slippageandwastefuel.Eitherretreadordiscard
thefullsetoftiresiftheyareveryworn.Adhereto
tyreballastingasandwhenrequiredtoreducewheel
slippageandfuelconsumption.
12.Alwaysusetheappropriateimplementstoreduce
dieselfuelwastage.Implementsshouldbemain-
tainedingoodcondition,asusageofwornoutim-
plementswillwastefuel.
13.Alwaysploughlengthwiseandplanyoureldrunto
reducefuelconsumption.Adjustthewheelgaugeto
suittheimplementandavoidoverlapwhenyouwork
intheeld.
14.Adjusttheproperenginerotationwhenyouworkwith
equipmentpoweredbyPowerTake-Off(PTO).Ifyou
selectthewrongrotation,itwillresultinexcessfuel
consumption.
