Safetyrules-Personalsafety
Carefullystudytheseprecautions,andthoseincludedintheexternalattachmentoperators
manual,andinsistthattheybefollowedbythoseworkingwithandforyou.
1.ThoroughlyreadandunderstandthismanualandtheattachmentOperator’sManualbeforeoperatingthisor
anyotherequipment.
2.Besureallpeopleandpetsareclearofthemachinebeforestarting.Soundthehorn,ifequipped,threetimes
beforestartingengine.
3.Onlytheoperatorshouldbeonthemachinewheninoperation.Neverallowanyonetoclimbontothemachine
whileitisinmotion.IfthemachineisequippedwithanInstructorsSeat,thismustonlybeusedfortraining
purposes.PassengersmustnotbeallowedtousetheInstructorsSeat.
4.Keepallshieldsinplace.Neverworkaroundthemachineoranyoftheattachmentswhilewearinglooseclothing
thatmightcatchonmovingparts.
5.Observethefollowingprecautionswheneverlubricatingthemachineormakingadjustments.
•
Disengageallclutchingleversorswitches.
•
Lowertheattachment,ifequipped,tothegroundorraisetheattachmentcompletelyandengage
thecylindersafetylocks.Completingtheseactionswillpreventtheattachmentfromloweringun-
expectedly.
•
Engagetheparkingbrake.
•
Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
•
Waitforallmachinemovementtostopbeforeleavingtheoperatorsplatform.
6.Alwayskeepthemachineingearwhiletravellingdownhill.
7.Themachineshouldalwaysbeequippedwithsufcientfrontorrearaxleweightforsafeoperation.
8.Undersomeeldconditions,moreweightmayberequiredatthefrontorrearaxleforadequatestability.This
isespeciallyimportantwhenoperatinginhillyconditionsor/whenusingheavyattachments.
9.Alwayslowertheattachment,shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,engagethetransmissiongears,remove
thekeyandwaitforallmachinemovementtostopbeforeleavingtheoperatorsplatform.
10.Iftheattachmentormachineshouldbecomeobstructedorplugged;settheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine
andremovethekey,engagethetransmissiongears,waitforallmachineorattachmentmotiontocometoa
stop,beforeleavingtheoperatorsplatformtoremovingtheobstructionorplug.
11.Neverdisconnectormakeanyadjustmentstothehydraulicsystemunlessthemachineand/ortheattachment
isloweredtothegroundorthesafetylock(s)isintheengagedposition.
12.Useoftheashinglightsishighlyrecommendedwhenoperatingonapublicroad.
13.Whentransportingonaroadorhighway,useaccessorylightsanddevicesforadequatewarningtotheoperators
ofothervehicles.Inthisregard,checklocalgovernmentregulations.Varioussafetylightsanddevicesare
availablefromyourCASECONSTRUCTIONdealer.
14.Practicesafety365daysayear.
15.Keepallyourequipmentinsafeoperatingcondition.
16.Keepallguardsandsafetydevicesinplace.
17.Alwayssettheparkingbrake,shutofftheengineandremovethekey,engagethetransmissiongears,waitforall
machineorattachmentmotiontocometoastop,beforeleavingtheoperatorsplatformtoservicethemachine
andattachment.
18.Remember:Acarefuloperatoristhebestinsuranceagainstanaccident.
19.Extremecareshouldbetakeninkeepinghandsandclothingawayfrommovingparts.
