workareamust,atminimum,wearweldinggoggles.Neverlookdirectlyattheweldingarcwithout
weldingeyeprotection.

onthequalityandprecisionofthework.Nevermakemodicationsonthemachine.
Toperformweldingoperationsonthemachine
(authorizedandinaccordancewithCASE
CONSTRUCTIONrecommendations),proceedas
follows:
•
Identifyallpointsoffractureorcracking,andtheareas
inwhichweldingisrequired.
•
Thoroughlycleantheareasinvolved.
•
Removeallpaint.Inspectthepartswithliquidpenetrant
oramagnetictoolforparticles.
•
Shutdowntheengine.Placetheignitionkeyinthe
“OFF”positiontoshutdowntheengine.
NOTICE:Afteryoushutdownthemachine,waitatleast
8mintoshutdownthebatterycablesorthemaster
switch(ifequipped).Thistimeisnecessarysothatthe
engine’selectronicsystem(ifequipped)canstorethe
settingsdataintheelectronicmodule.
•
Disconnectthebatteriesandthewiresfromterminals
D+andB+ofthealternator.
•
Disconnecttheelectricalwiringharnessesfromthe
transmissioncontrolmodulesandfromtheengine.
•
Connectthegroundcableoftheweldingmachinetothe
componenttobewelded.
•
Alwaysconnecttheweldingequipmenttotheframethat
isbeingwelded.
•
Neverconnecttheweldingequipmentgroundtoacom-
ponentofthehydraulicsystem.
•
Avoidweldingatlowtemperatures,e.g.,below16°C.If
necessary,warmupthepartinvolvedpriortowelding.
•
Removethepaintfromallsurfacesbeforeheatingor
welding.Paintedsurfacescangeneratetoxicgases
whenheatedorwelded.
•
Useappropriatemasksorprotectivegoggles.
•
Wearappropriateglovesandprotectiveequipment.
•
Disconnecttheconnectorsfromallcontrolmodulesof
themachine.
