Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive manual for an electric radiator, providing detailed instructions for its installation, operation, and maintenance across multiple languages including Italian, English, French, Polish, and Romanian.

Function Description

The electric radiator is designed for heating domestic rooms or similar environments. It operates as a fixed wall-mounted appliance, with the thermostat positioned at the bottom. The device offers six operating modes to suit various heating needs: Pilot Wire, Comfort, Night/Eco, Anti-Freeze, Chrono, and Energy Saving.

The Pilot Wire mode allows temperature programming via external Pilot Wire commands, with all Pilot Wire commands activated. The user can only adjust the "Comfort" temperature on the appliance itself. This mode requires the home to be fitted with an automation system that supports this technology.

The Comfort mode sets the temperature to the user's desired level, with all Pilot Wire commands disabled.

The Night/Eco mode maintains a comfortable temperature with reduced energy consumption. If the "Comfort" temperature is set below the "Night/Eco" temperature, the latter automatically adjusts. This mode is recommended for nighttime use or when the room is unoccupied for two hours or more. All Pilot Wire commands are disabled in this mode.

The Anti-Freeze mode fixes the temperature at 7°C, automatically activating the appliance when the room temperature drops below 7°C to prevent freezing with minimal energy consumption. This mode is recommended when the room is unoccupied for a day or more. All Pilot Wire commands are disabled.

The Chrono mode enables selection from three preset chrono-thermostat programs (P1, P2, P3) or a custom program (P4). The custom program allows for daily and weekly programming with two temperature levels ("Comfort" and "Night/Eco"). All Pilot Wire commands are disabled in this mode.

The Energy Saving mode reduces energy consumption when the room is left unoccupied, fixing the temperature at 17°C. This mode is particularly useful for maintaining a comfortable temperature while minimizing energy use. All Pilot Wire commands are disabled.

The radiator also includes several special functions to customize and optimize its use:

  • ASC (Adaptive Start Control): This function measures the thermal inertia of the room and anticipates the radiator's activation to ensure the "Comfort" temperature is reached by the set time. It can switch the appliance on up to two hours early and is only active in "Chrono" mode. It requires several days of data acquisition to optimize accuracy.
  • Open Window Detection: This function automatically detects an open window near the radiator (e.g., during cleaning) and switches to "Anti-Freeze" mode to prevent unnecessary heating and energy waste. It also detects when the window closes and resets to the previous operating condition. For optimal operation, it is recommended to install the appliance near a window.
  • Children Safety: When activated, the appliance's surface temperature is reduced compared to normal operation in active modes ("Comfort", "Night/Eco") to minimize the risk of burns from brief accidental contact. This function limits the heating power even when "Overdrive (2h)" is active. If the appliance is already hot, it takes at least two hours for the temperature to drop to the lower value.
  • Overdrive (2h): This function allows for rapid heating of the room at maximum power for two hours, ignoring the current temperature setting. The remaining time is displayed on the screen. It can be deactivated at any time.
  • Holiday Mode: This function allows setting the radiator to "Anti-Freeze" mode for a specified number of days when away from home. The appliance will automatically return to the previously selected operating mode once the holiday period expires.
  • Keypad Lock: This function locks the control panel keypad to prevent accidental modifications. The "Standby" key remains active even when the keypad is locked.

The control panel features a display showing the current operating mode, chrono presets, heating element state, standby mode, instantaneous power indicator, clock/temperature set point, days of the week, and a chrono program time bar. Buttons include "Mode" selection, ON/Standby, "+", "-", and a setting confirmation/disable "Open Window" key.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Voltage: 230 V ~ 50 Hz
  • Insulation Class: II
  • Protection Class: IPx4
  • Power (W): Available in various wattages, from 700W to 2000W, depending on the model (e.g., 700W, 1000W, 1500W, 1800W, 2000W).
  • Dimensions (Length x Height): Varies by model (e.g., 39cm x 58cm for 700W, 104cm x 58cm for 2000W).
  • Weight (kg): Varies by model (e.g., 8kg for 700W, 33kg for 2000W).
  • Rated Current (A): Varies by model (e.g., 3A for 700W, 9A for 2000W).
  • Temperature Regulation Range: 7°C to 32°C.
  • Oil-filled: The appliance contains a precise quantity of oil. Any repairs requiring the appliance to be opened must be performed by a qualified professional.
  • Auxiliary Power Consumption: At nominal heat output, minimum heat output, and in standby mode, the auxiliary power consumption is 0.000 kW for all models.
  • Control Options: Electronic room temperature control with weekly timer (YES), open window detection (YES), adaptive start control (YES). Other options like presence detection, distance control, working time limitation, and black bulb sensor are NOT available.

Usage Features

  • Installation: The appliance must be installed by a specialized engineer in accordance with local and national regulations. It should be fixed to the wall with the thermostat at the bottom. Specific minimum distances from the floor (min 15 cm), sides (min 15 cm), and top (max 10 cm) must be observed. In bathrooms, it must be installed outside Zone 1, ensuring electronic controls are not reachable from the bath or shower. Direct plug connection is prohibited for bathroom installations.
  • Electrical Connection: Requires a 230V~50Hz power supply. The electrical line must be appropriate for the appliance's power. A disconnecting switch is required to completely isolate the appliance from the mains. In bathrooms, the power line must have a 30mA RCD. The electrical connection should be made inside a junction box. In damp rooms, the connection point must be at least 25 cm from the floor. The Pilot Wire, if present, must be terminated and insulated if not connected to a programming unit, and never connected to earth.
  • Control Panel Operation: The control panel allows users to select operating modes, adjust temperature, activate special functions, and view status indicators. A behavioral indicator provides qualitative feedback on energy consumption (green for recommended, yellow for slightly high, red for high). An instantaneous power indicator shows the radiator's power usage in 20% increments.
  • Safety: The appliance can become very hot, posing a burn risk, especially to children and vulnerable individuals. Children under 3 years must be kept away unless supervised. Children between 3 and 8 years should only operate the on/off function under supervision and after proper instruction. They must not disconnect, regulate, clean, or maintain the appliance. Combustible materials, flammable substances, and pressure vessels must be kept at least 50 cm away. Do not cover the appliance or obstruct airflow.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Before cleaning, ensure the appliance is turned off, cold, and disconnected from the mains. Use a soft, damp cloth with a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive, corrosive cleaning products or solvents.
  • Dust Removal: To maintain efficiency, dust should be removed from the surface and inside the appliance at least twice a year using a vacuum cleaner.
  • Repairs: Any technical problems or repairs requiring the appliance to be opened must be performed by qualified personnel (recognized and authorized by the dealer or manufacturer). In case of oil leaks, contact the dealer or qualified professional.
  • Disposal: At the end of its useful life, the product must not be disposed of with urban waste. It should be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection center or returned to a dealer providing this service, in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EC. The power cable must be disconnected before disposal.
  • Warranty: The manufacturer guarantees the product for two years from the date of purchase, covering non-conformities and production defects. The warranty is void if defects are caused by misuse, accidental breakage, negligence, or tampering. Installation, connection, and routine maintenance are not covered. The original packaging should be retained for potential returns.

The manual emphasizes the importance of following all instructions to ensure safe and efficient operation of the electric radiator.
