Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the CDA CCG Built-in Extractors, providing details on installation, use, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The CDA CCG Built-in Extractor is a kitchen appliance designed to remove cooking fumes, grease, and odours from the air. It can operate in two modes:

  1. Extraction Mode (ducted outside): In this mode, the extractor vents the air outside the kitchen through a ducting system. This is generally recommended for best performance and quietest operation.
  2. Recirculation Mode (no ducting): In this mode, the extractor filters the air using charcoal filters and then recirculates the cleaned air back into the kitchen. It's important to note that in recirculation mode, the extractor will only remove grease and odours, not steam. Charcoal filters are not supplied with the appliance and must be purchased separately.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Rated Voltage (mains electrical voltage): 230 - 240Vac, 50Hz
  • Rated Input (rated power consumption): 95W
  • Motor Input: 90W
  • Lamp Power: 1 x 5W (uses energy-efficient LED technology)
  • Fuse Requirement: ONLY USE A 3 AMP FUSE. Using a 13A fuse can cause internal wiring damage not covered under warranty.
  • Minimum Distance from Hob:
    • Above an electric hob: greater than 600mm
    • Above a gas hob: greater than 700mm (or 760mm if no specific instructions are provided with the gas hob).
  • Room Volume: Designed for use in a room with a volume of less than 36m³.
  • Ducting Recommendations:
    • Recommended for best performance: 150mm ducting.
    • 125mm ducting may be used but will reduce performance and increase noise.
    • 100mm ducting is not recommended.
    • Utilize rigid circular or rectangular section pipe with a smooth interior.
    • Recommended ducting lengths with minimal effect on performance:
      • 4 metres with 1 x 90° bend
      • 3 metres with 2 x 90° bends
      • 2 metres with 3 x 90° bends
  • Product Dimensions (approximate):
    • Width: 598mm
    • Depth: 290mm
    • Height: 283mm (excluding ducting connection)
    • Ducting outlet diameter: Ø150mm
  • Energy Efficiency Information (Product Fiche - CCG60BL model):
    • Annual Energy Consumption (AEC hood): 39.6 kWh/yr
    • Energy Efficiency Index (EEI hood): A
    • Fluid Dynamic Efficiency (FDE hood): 30.4
    • Fluid Dynamic Efficiency Class: A
    • Lighting Efficiency (LE hood): 22.6 Lux/W
    • Lighting Efficiency Class: B
    • Airflow rate, min: 218 m³/h
    • Airflow rate, max: 540 m³/h
    • Grease Filter Efficiency (GFE hood): 78%
    • Grease Filter Efficiency Class: C
    • Power consumption in standby (Ps): 0 W
    • Power consumption off mode (PO): 0.43 W
    • Noise level at min / max (LWA): 66 dBA
    • Noise level on boost: -

Usage Features:

The extractor features a control panel with both touch controls and gesture control sensors.

  • Control Panel Features:
    • 3-15min Timer: Activates an Off-Timer to turn off the hood after approximately 15 minutes.
    • Reduce Fan Speed (-): Decreases the fan speed.
    • Increase Fan Speed (+): Increases the fan speed.
    • Gesture Control On/Off: Toggles gesture control.
    • Light Control: Turns the extractor lighting on or off.
  • Fan Speeds:
    • Low speed (1): For light cooking with minimal fumes.
    • Medium speeds (2-3): For cooking multiple dishes with moderate fumes.
    • Turbo (P): For frying or grilling with large amounts of fumes. This mode is active for 5 minutes, after which it automatically reduces to a lower level.
  • Gesture Control:
    • Activated by default when the appliance is plugged in.
    • Allows control of fan speed and lighting by moving an open hand 5-10 cm from the control panel surface.
    • Activate Appliance: Move hand from left to right across sensors (1a, 1b).
    • Turn On Fan / Increase Fan Speed: Move hand from left to right multiple times in standby mode.
    • Turn Off Fan / Reduce Fan Speed: Move hand from right to left multiple times until the display shows '0', then one more time to turn off the appliance (gesture control remains active).
    • Turn Lighting On/Off: Hover hand about 10 cm above sensor 2.
    • Hand movements should not be too fast; a single gesture should take about 1 second.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Regular cleaning (monthly, both inside and outside) is crucial to prevent grease build-up and fire risk.
    • Use a non-abrasive cleaner, such as a dilute solution of water and mild detergent, and dry with a clean cloth. Abrasive cleaners can scratch the surface and erase markings.
    • Steam cleaners must not be used.
  • Grease Filters:
    • Should be cleaned at least once a month to minimize fire risk.
    • Removal: Push the button on the handle, then pull down on the front of the filter.
    • Cleaning: Wash with hot soapy water or in a dishwasher (place upright to prevent damage).
    • Discolouration of filters after dishwasher cleaning is normal and not a fault.
  • Charcoal Filters (for recirculation mode only):
    • Should be replaced every three to six months, depending on use.
    • Attachment: After removing grease filters, offer up charcoal filters to the sides of the motor and turn clockwise until they lock in place.
    • Charcoal filters are not supplied and can be purchased from CDA Customer Care.
  • Extractor Lighting:
    • Uses LED technology designed to last the product's lifetime.
    • If the LED system malfunctions, contact CDA Customer Care.
    • LED units must only be replaced by a competent appliance service engineer.

Important Safety Notes:

  • Do not connect the extractor to any gas ventilation, flue, or hot air ducting system.
  • Do not vent the extractor into an attic or loft space.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in the room where the extractor is housed.
  • The extractor should be removable for service or maintenance; do not tile it in or use silicone sealant to secure it to the wall.
  • The extractor must be able to be isolated from the mains electrical supply after installation.
  • External covers should only be removed by suitably qualified personnel.
  • The CDA Group Ltd is not responsible for injuries or losses from incorrect use or installation. Incorrect installation or misuse may invalidate the guarantee.
  • This appliance is not designed for use by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacity, or lack of experience/knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
  • Disposal of the appliance must be done at a special local authority waste collection site or through a dealer providing recycling services, in accordance with EU Directive 2012/19/EU.
