Unlike pneumac-based bioprinng, this technique results in small droplets instead of laments. The translaonal speed of the bioprinng
process will aect the pitch between droplets. A low speed might result in the droplets merging together or aggregang, while a high speed will
result in a larger distance between droplets.
The EMD Printhead includes a noncontact nozzle and a contact nozzle. The contact nozzle must be calibrated to the height of the surface, while
the noncontact nozzle must be calibrated between one and three cenmeters away from the surface. The contact nozzle has a needle which can
extrude droplets or laments depending on the parameters set.
In addion, EMD bioprinng can be used in combinaon with other extrusion techniques to coat or place specic cell paerns.
