any oxidation or dirt on the connec-
tions between thermopile and gas
valve and thermocouple and gas
valve.
4.7 TROUBLESHOOTING
The burner does not switch-on.
Check that the gas flow is regular
and that air has been removed from
the pipes.
Check that the pilot nozzle hole is not
clogged.
Check the activation operations.
The activator does not emit the
discharge.
Replace the failed piezoelectric acti-
vator.
The electrode is not positioned cor-
rectly or has failed and must be
replaced.
Ensure there is no false contact
between terminal and activator
cable.
The pilot burner switches off when
the activation button is released.
Check that the pilot burner flame
covers the thermocouple sufficiently.
Adjust the gas flow rate to the pilot.
– Check that the thermocouple termi-
nals are correctly fastened to the
safety thermostat.
The safety thermostat is faulty and
must be replaced.
Check the thermopile efficiency.
Check the thermocouple efficiency.
Replace the gas valve.
The pilot burner does not burn cor-
rectly.
Check that the gas pressure is regu-
lar.
– Clean the primary air intake hole of
the pilot burner.
Clean the pilot filter in the gas valve.
Bursts at the burner start and acti-
vation delay.
Check that the pilot burner flame is
not too short.
Check that the boiler body is not too
dirty.
The main burner does not switch-
on.
The flue safety thermostat has been
activated (point 3.1)
Check the thermopile efficiency.
Check the thermopile efficiency.
Replace the gas valve.
The boiler gets dirty easily causing
scaling of cast iron exchanger and
cutting off of smoke stat.
Make sure the main burner flame is
well regulated and the gas con-
sumption is proportional to the boi-
ler output.
The boiler is installed in a poorly ven-
tilated room.
– Insufficient flue draught or not com-
plying with existing standards
– The boiler operates at too low tem-
peratures, set the boiler stat at
higher temperatures.
The thermostat re-ignites with too
high temperature drop.
Replace the boiler stat which is
faulty.
