What to do if my Char-Broil Grill smoker is not heating?
- JJill PottsAug 3, 2025
If your Char-Broil Grill smoker isn't heating, first, ensure the smoker is turned on. Check your household circuit breakers or GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) and reset or replace if necessary. Try another working appliance in the outlet or a different outlet on another circuit. If these steps don't work, you may need to replace the controller or heating element. Avoid using other electrical appliances on the same circuit. Keep all electrical connections dry and do not operate the unit in the rain. Replace any damaged controller or extension cord. Make sure the smoker door is closed while cooking. Preheat for 15-20 minutes and increase the controller setting if the temperature is too low. Finally, ensure you are using an appropriately rated cord (15 amps).
