How to fix Char-Broil RED 463250108 Grill burner not lighting with ignitor?
- HHeather MitchellJul 31, 2025
If the burner on your Char-Broil Grill won't light using the ignitor, start by replacing the AA battery with a new alkaline one. If that doesn't work, inspect the electrode. Make sure the tip of the electrode is pointing towards the gas port opening on the burner, positioned about 1/8” to 1/4” away. Adjust if needed. Also, check for cracks or breaks in the electrode; if you see sparks at a crack, replace the electrode. Clean any cooking residue from the wire and electrode using rubbing alcohol and a clean swab. Ensure all wires are securely connected, and if they are shorting (sparking) between the ignitor and electrode, replace the ignitor wire/electrode assembly.
