Overview

The Chefman Toast-Air® Touch Air Fryer + Oven is a versatile kitchen appliance designed to offer a wide range of cooking functions, combining the capabilities of an air fryer and a conventional oven. This 20-liter capacity unit is capable of baking a 10-inch pizza or air frying up to 2 pounds of chicken wings, making it suitable for various meal preparations. Its sleek stainless steel design ensures it looks good on any kitchen counter.

Function Description

The appliance boasts nine distinct cooking functions, providing flexibility for different culinary needs. These functions include:

  • Bake: This general cooking method operates like a regular oven, ideal for small-batch cookies, brownies, cakes, and roasting meats or chicken.
  • Convection Bake: Similar to the Bake function, but utilizes a fan to circulate hot air, resulting in faster and hotter cooking, which is particularly effective for pizzas.
  • Broil: Designed for cooking foods with direct heat from above, perfect for browning or crisping the top layer of dishes.
  • Air Fry: This function uses fast-moving hot air to cook food to crisp perfection without the need for oil. It's an excellent choice for many frozen prepared foods, as well as french fries and chicken wings.
  • Slow Cook: As the name suggests, this method involves slowly cooking foods at a lower temperature, making it ideal for tenderizing tough cuts of meat.
  • Warm: This function heats the oven at a lower temperature, perfect for reheating leftovers without drying them out.
  • Toast: Allows for toasting multiple slices of bread to a desired shade, with adjustable settings for lightness or darkness.
  • Bagel: Specifically designed for toasting bagels, ensuring a crisp-chewy texture.
  • Dehydrate: A great method for creating tasty, long-lasting snacks from fruits and vegetables, as well as drying herbs for backpacking meals.

Beyond these individual functions, the Air Fryer + Oven features a Dual Cook Function, which allows users to program two different cooking methods to occur sequentially. For instance, you can set the oven to bake a casserole and then automatically switch to broil to achieve a golden, crisp topping. This sequential cooking capability is available for functions in the top two rows of the control panel: Bake, Convection Bake, Broil, Air Fry, Slow Cook, and Warm.

Usage Features

The Chefman Toast-Air® Touch Air Fryer + Oven is designed for ease of use with a capacitive touch control panel.

  • Control Panel: The intuitive control panel includes dedicated buttons for each of the nine cooking functions.
  • Temp/Time Display: This display alternates between showing the set temperature and time, providing clear feedback during operation.
  • Toast Settings Display: When using the Toast or Bagel functions, this display shows the selected shade level.
  • Temp/Time Button: Used to select either time or temperature for adjustment. Pressing and holding this button allows switching between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) temperature units.
  • Temp/Time Arrows: Up and down arrows allow for increasing or decreasing time, temperature, or toast shade.
  • Dual Cook Button: Activates the dual cook mode, enabling the programming of two sequential cooking functions.
  • 1 and 2 Buttons: Used to select and set the first and second functions within the Dual Cook mode.
  • Frozen Button: When toasting frozen bread or bagels, pressing this button automatically adjusts the toasting time to achieve the desired shade as if it were fresh.
  • Oven Light Button: Turns the interior oven light on or off. Pressing and holding this button will also turn off the unit's sound (beeps).
  • Start/Stop Button: Initiates or cancels the cooking process.

The appliance comes with several accessories to support its various functions: an air fry basket, broil/bake pan, flat wire rack, pull-out crumb tray, and two dehydrating racks. Rack insert positions are clearly marked within the oven. The door features a cool-touch handle for safe operation and a safety auto-shutoff mechanism.

For optimal toasting results, especially with one or two pieces of bread or bagels, it is recommended to center them in the middle of the wire rack. When using the dehydrate function, food should be placed on the racks with room between each piece, and rack positions can be rotated occasionally for even drying.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the Chefman Toast-Air® Touch Air Fryer + Oven is straightforward, ensuring its longevity and consistent performance.

  • Cooling Before Cleaning: Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before beginning any cleaning process.
  • Exterior Cleaning: The exterior can be gently wiped with a clean, damp cloth and then dried thoroughly.
  • Interior Cleaning: The interior walls should be wiped with a mild liquid soap and a damp cloth or sponge. It's crucial to avoid abrasive cleaners like steel wool pads, as these can damage the finish. Regular cleaning of the top interior is recommended to remove grease buildup, which prevents smoke and maintains consistent cooking.
  • Door Glass Cleaning: The glass on the door can be washed with dish soap and warm water using a sponge, soft cloth, or nylon pad. Spray glass cleaners should not be used.
  • Crumb Tray: The removable crumb tray should be slid out, crumbs discarded, and then wiped clean. For baked-on grease, soaking the tray in hot, sudsy water and using non-abrasive cleaners (sponge, cloth, or brush) is effective. The crumb tray is not dishwasher safe.
  • Accessories Cleaning: The bake/broil pan, wire rack, air fry basket, and dehydrating racks should be hand washed and dried thoroughly. The racks and basket are top-rack dishwasher safe, but the broil pan is not.
  • Storage: Ensure all parts of the Air Fryer + Oven and its accessories are fully dry before storing the unit.

The appliance is designed with an easy-clean interior, simplifying the cleaning process after use. It is important to ensure the crumb tray is always inserted into the bottom of the oven below the door before operation.
