      If your Chicago Electric Portable Generator isn't starting, first, refill the fuel tank if it's empty. Then, ensure the Engine Switch is in the ON position and the Fuel Valve is also ON. Check the engine oil level and top off if it's low. Inspect the spark plug to ensure the wire is connected properly. Clean and re-gap the spark plug, replacing it if necessary. Lastly, ensure fuel is reaching the carburetor by cleaning the fuel filter cup and checking the fuel line for leaks or obstructions.

      If your Chicago Electric Portable Generator has low power output and the engine bogs down, it could be due to several reasons. Begin by adjusting the Engine Advance Angle to correct any incorrect ignition timing. Next, purge any air from the fuel line or clear any obstructions. Readjust the Main Jet if it's not properly adjusted. Clean and readjust the Metering Jet or Main Jet if clogged. Clean the Fuel Cock if clogged and clean out any Carbon Fouling in the Combustion Chamber. Clean or replace the Air Filter if it's clogged, and repair or replace the Intake Manifold if it's leaking.

      If your Chicago Electric Portable Generator engine stops suddenly, first check the fuel level and refill if needed. Clean the Fuel Filter if it's clogged. Replace the Carburetor Float if it's leaking. Clean and readjust the Needle Valve if it sticks. Ensure the Engine Switch is in the ON position. Clean or replace the spark plug, resetting the gap to 0.024 - 0.031 if the tip is burned or fouled. Check connections at both ends of the Spark Plug Wire. Check the condition of the spark plug wire, replacing it if it's shorting. Check coil continuity and output if the Ignition Coil is shorted or damaged. If the Engine Piston, Piston Rod, Valve or Crankshaft may be damaged or the Generator Shaft may be seized have it serviced by a qualified technician.

      To address an engine that runs excessively hot on your Chicago Electric Portable Generator, start by checking and resetting the Ignition Timing. Inspect the exhaust system for damage or clogs, repairing as needed. Check the intake manifold and gasket condition, repairing as needed. Clean the Cylinder Wall Cooling Fins if they are dirty or clogged. Check the cooling fan condition, repairing or replacing if needed. Replace the Piston Rod if it's bent. Check clearances and replace if needed the Piston, Piston Ring or Cylinder Wall if they are worn. Ensure the choke is fully open and reduce the electrical load on the generator. Check the Crankshaft Main Bearing for wear and replace if needed.

Clean out the Combustion chamber and spark plug if there's carbon fouling. Drain old gas, clean the fuel filter, and replace with fresh, minimum 91 octane premium unleaded gasoline if the gasoline or gas/oil mixture is dirty or old. Ensure the Engine Switch is in the ON position. Drain the Carburetor Bowl and clean the Fuel Filter if there is water in the bowl. Clean and re-gap the spark plug to 0.024” - 0.031”, replacing if needed. Check and adjust the ignition timing if it's incorrect. Check for damaged wires and test output if the coil or ignition ...
