Unpack and Inspect the Chassis
Keep the shipping container in case the chassis requires shipping in the future.
Tip
The chassis is thoroughly inspected before shipment. If any damage occurred during transportation or any
items are missing, contact your customer service representative immediately.

Step 1 Remove the chassis from its cardboard container and save all packaging material.
Step 2 Compare the shipment to the equipment list provided by your customer service representative. Verify that you have all
items.
Step 3 Check for damage and report any discrepancies or damage to your customer service representative. Have the following
information ready:
• Invoice number of shipper (see the packing slip)
• Model and serial number of the damaged unit
• Description of damage
• Effect of damage on the installation

Secure the rack-mount brackets to the sides of the chassis using the specified screws.

Install Optional Cable Management Bracket

Attach the optional cable management bracket to the rack-mount bracket with screws.

Mount Chassis with Brackets into Rack

Mount the chassis, now equipped with brackets, into the rack using appropriate rack screws.

Rack-Mount Chassis Using Slide Rails

Attach Inner Rails to Chassis Sides

Connect the inner rails to the chassis sides using screws or chassis pegs.

Prepare Slide Rail Assemblies for Rack Installation

Open the front securing plate on slide-rail assemblies before insertion into rack posts.

Install Slide Rails into Rack Posts

Align and securely fasten the slide rail assemblies to the rack posts, ensuring they are level.

Insert Chassis into Rack Slide Rails

Slide the chassis with inner rails into the mounted rack slide rails until they lock.

Secure Chassis to Rack with Slide Rails

Use the front mounting bracket captive screws to fully secure the chassis to the rack.

Ground the Chassis

Prepare Grounding Cable for Lug

Strip approximately 0.75 inches of covering from the grounding cable end.

Insert Grounding Cable into Lug

Insert the stripped end of the grounding cable into the designated opening of the grounding lug.

Crimp Grounding Cable to Lug

Utilize a crimping tool to firmly secure the grounding cable within the grounding lug.

Prepare Chassis Grounding Pad

Remove the adhesive label from the chassis grounding pad to ensure direct metal-to-metal contact.

Attach Grounding Lug to Chassis

Position the grounding lug on the pad and secure it using screws and washers.

Check Grounding Cable Clearance

Ensure the grounding lug and cable do not interfere with other installed equipment.

Connect Grounding Cable to Earth Ground

Connect the free end of the grounding cable to an appropriate site earth grounding point.
