NOTE: Cisco recommends running the Setup Wizard to connect
and congure the router. Advanced users can optionally use
these instructions to congure the Router.
1. Ensure that your Router is connected properly to your network and
powered on (the Power LED is lit).
2. Open your web browser. Enter
http://192.168.1.1 in the Address
field. Press Enter.
3. On the login screen, leave the
User Name field blank, and enter
the default password, admin,
in the Password field. (For
added security, you should later
change the password using the
Administration > Management
screen of the browser‑based
utility.) Then click OK.
4. The browser‑based utility appears. Select the Internet Connection Type
setting as requested by your ISP. For detailed configuration information,
refer to the utility’s online help pages or call Technical Support.
Automatic Configuration - DHCP
If you are connecting through
DHCP or a dynamic IP address
from your ISP, keep the default,
Automatic Configuration -
DHCP.
