Protect your eyes and face before
handlingthebattery.
Alloperationsonthebatterymustbe
carried out in a well ventilated area and
awayfromnakedflamesandsources
ofsparks,soastoavoidtheriskof
explosionorfire.
Donottrytochargeafrozenbattery;
thebatterymustfirstbethawedoutto
avoidtheriskofexplosion.Ifthebattery
hasbeenfrozen,beforecharginghave
itcheckedbyaCITROËNdealerora
qualifiedworkshopwhowillcheckthat
theinternalcomponentshavenotbeen
damagedandthecasingisnotcracked,
whichcouldcausealeakoftoxicand
corrosiveacid.
Do not reverse the polarity and use only
a12Vcharger.
Donotdisconnecttheterminalswhile
theengineisrunning.
Donotchargethebatterieswithout
disconnectingtheterminalsfirst.
Washyourhandsafterwards.
It is advisable to disconnect the battery
if the vehicle is to be left unused for
morethanonemonth.
If your vehicle is fitted with an electronic
gearbox,donotpushthevehicletostart
theengine.
Charging the battery using
a battery charger
F Disconnectthebatteryfromthevehicle.
F Follow the instructions for use provided by
themanufacturerofthecharger.
F Connectthebatterystartingwiththe
negativeterminal(-).
F Checkthattheterminalsandconnectors
areclean.Iftheyarecoveredwithsulphate
(whitishorgreenishdeposit),removethem
andcleanthem.
With Stop & Start, the battery does not
havetobedisconnectedforcharging.
