Under-inationdetection
Thesystemmonitorsthepressuresinthefour
tyres,oncethevehicleismoving.
Itcomparestheinformationgivenbythefour
wheel speed sensors with reference values,
which must be reinitialised every time the
tyre pressures are adjusted or a wheel
changed.
Thesystemtriggersanalertassoonasit
detects a drop in the inflation pressure of one
ormoretyres.
Theunder-inflationdetectionsystem
doesnotreplacetheneedforvigilance
onthepartofthedriver.
Thissystemdoesnotavoidtheneedto
checkthetyrepressures(includingthe
sparewheel)everymonthaswellas
beforealongjourney.
Drivingwithunder-inflatedtyresimpairs
roadholding,extendsbrakingdistances
andcausesprematuretyrewear,
particularly under arduous condition
(highloading,highspeed,longjourney).
Systemwhichautomaticallychecksthepressuresofthetyreswhiledriving.

Tyrepressuresshouldbechecked
when the tyres are "cold" (vehicle
stoppedfor1hourorafterajourneyof
lessthan6miles(10km)atmoderate
speeds).
Otherwise(whenhot),add0.3barto
thepressuresshownonthelabel.
Drivingwithunder-inflatedtyres
increasesfuelconsumption.
