explosionorfire.
Donottrytochargeafrozenbattery;
thebatterymustfirstbethawedoutto
avoidtheriskofexplosion.Ifthebattery
hasbeenfrozen,beforecharginghave
itcheckedbyaCITROËNdealerora
qualifiedworkshopwhowillcheckthat
theinternalcomponentshavenotbeen
damagedandthecasingisnotcracked,
whichcouldcausealeakoftoxicand
corrosiveacid.
Do not reverse the polarity and use only
a12Vcharger.
Donotdisconnecttheterminalswhile
theengineisrunning.
Donotchargethebatterieswithout
disconnectingtheterminalsfirst.
Washyourhandsafterwards.
It is advisable to disconnect the battery
if the vehicle is to be left unused for
morethanonemonth.
If your vehicle is fitted with an electronic
gearbox,donotpushthevehicletostart
theengine.
Charging the battery using
a battery charger
F Disconnectthebatteryfromthevehicle.
F Follow the instructions for use provided by
themanufacturerofthecharger.
F Connectthebatterystartingwiththe
negativeterminal(-).
F Checkthattheterminalsandconnectors
areclean.Iftheyarecoveredwithsulphate
(whitishorgreenishdeposit),removethem
andcleanthem.
With Stop & Start, the battery does not
havetobedisconnectedforcharging.
