Deactivating the passenger's
front airbag
Onlythepassenger'sfrontairbagcanbe
deactivated.
F With the ignition off,insertthekeyinthe
passengerairbagdeactivationswitch.
F Turn it to the "OFF"position.
F Removethekeykeepingtheswitchinthe
newposition.
Whentheignitionison,thiswarning
lampcomesintheseatbeltwarning
lampsdisplayscreen.Itstayson
whiletheairbagisdeactivated.
To assure the safety of your child,
thepassenger'sfrontairbagmustbe
deactivated when you install a rearward
facingchildseatonthefrontpassenger
seat.
Otherwise,thechildwouldriskbeing
seriouslyinjuredorkillediftheairbag
weredeployed.
Reactivating the passenger's
front airbag
Whenyouremovearearward facing child
seat, with the ignition off, turn the switch to
the "ON"positiontoreactivatetheairbagand
soassurethesafetyofyourfrontpassengerin
theeventofanimpact.

Deployment
Theairbagsaredeployed,exceptthe
passenger'sfrontairbagifitisdeactivated,inthe
eventofaseriousfrontimpacttoallorpartofthe
frontimpactzoneA,inthelongitudinalcentreline
of the vehicle on a horizontal plane and directed
fromthefronttotherearofthevehicle.
Thefrontairbaginflatesbetweenthethoraxand
head of the front occupant of the vehicle and the
steeringwheel,driver'sside,andthedashboard,
passenger'ssidetocushiontheirforward
movement.
Systemwhichprotectsthedriverandfront
passengerintheeventofaseriousfrontimpact
inordertolimittheriskofinjurytotheheadand
thorax.
Thedriver'sairbagisfittedinthecentreofthe
steeringwheel;thefrontpassenger'sairbag
isfittedintherooftoallowmorespaceinthe
glovebox.
Whentheignitionisswitchedon,this
warninglampcomesonintheseat
beltwarninglampsdisplayscreenfor
approximatelyoneminutetosignal
thatthefrontairbagisactivated.
