How To Tow a Disabled Truck
Operating Hazards
Power steering will not operate on the
disabled truck when the engine will not
run. The handwheel will be difficult to
turn.

Park the disabled truck in authorized
areas only. Fully lower the forks to the
floor, put directional control lever in
"N" (neutral) position and turn the igni-
tion switch to the "off" position.
Engage the parking brake. Remove the
ignition key and put blocks behind the
wheels to prevent the truck from roll-
ing.

When right-angle stacking, or moving with a
raised load to clear low objects, avoid sharp
turns and move slowly.
A CAUTION
Always engage the parking brake
when parking a lift truck. The truck
can move and cause injury or death
to personnel near it.
