Disabled
Truck
Operating Hazards
Power
steering will
not
operate
on the
disabled truck when
the
engine will
not
run.
The
handwheel will
be
difficult
to
turn.
AWARNING:

Park
the
disabled truck
in
authorized
areas only. Fully lower
the
forks
to the
floor,
put
directional control lever
in
"N"
(neutral) position
and
turn
the
igni-
tion
switch
to the
"off" position.
Engage
the
parking brake. Remove
the
ignition
key and put
blocks behind
the
wheels
to
prevent
the
truck from roll-
ing.

When
right-angle stacking,
or
moving with
a
raised load
to
clear
low
objects, avoid sharp
turns
and
move slowly.
A
CAUTION
Always
engage
the
parking brake
when
parking
a
lift
truck.
The
truck
can
move
and
cause injury
or
death
to
personnel near
it.
