Towing
How To Tow a
Disabled Truck
If
your
lift
truck becomes
disabled
but
can be
moved freely
on its own
wheels
without further damage,
use the
follow-
ing
procedures
to tow it
safely
to a
repair area.
It is
important
for
your safety
and to
the
care
of
your
lift
truck
to use the
pro-
per
equipment
and
carefully follow
these recommendations
for
safe tow-
ing.
Use
an
approved towing coupler that
bolts
to the
axle through
the
counterweight.
Towing equipment
is
optional equip-
ment
available from your Clark dealer.
1.
Engage
the
parking
brake.
2.
Put
blocks
against
the
drive
wheels.

or
trailer
drop-offs

To
avoid these hazards
you
must:
Talk
to the
truck driver
yourself,
make sure
he
does
not
move
the
trailer
until
you are
done!
Apply
trailer
brakes.
Use
wheel chocks.
Use
trailer-to-dock locking systems,
if
available.
