Operating instructions
Battery operation
Note: Never mix old and new batteries and never mix rechargeable batteries with non-rechargeable
batteries.
1. Remove thebattery cover (13) on theback of theradio.
2. Lay thebattery removal ribbon on thebottom of thebattery holder.
3. Insert 4×AA/LR6 batteries (sold separately). Note thepolarity markings on thebottom of
thebattery holder to ensure correct insertion.
4. Refit thebattery cover.
5. Thedisplay turns off afew seconds after theradio is switched on in order to save battery power.
Mains adaptor operation
1. Connect theadaptor to theadaptor socket (11) and to anavailable power point.
2. Thedisplay will stay on for as long as theradio is powered by themains adaptor and is
switched on.
On/off
1. Press [ SOURCE ] once, theradio enters theplayback mode it was in when it was last
switched off.
2. Select theplayback mode by pressing the [
SOURCE ] button repeatedly in quick
succession.
3. Hold in [
SOURCE ] for 2 seconds to turn the power off.
Setting theclock
With theradio turned off, hold in [ SET/MEM/M+ ] until “24” flashes on thedisplay.
Press [ ] or [ ] to select 12- or 24-hour clock mode.
1. Press [
SET/MEM/M+ ] again, thehours will flash. Press or hold in [ ] or [ ] to set
thehours.
2. Press [
SET/MEM/M+ ] again, theminutes will flash. Press or hold in [ ] or [ ] to set
theminutes.
3. Press [
SET/MEM/M+ ] again to exit thesettings mode.
FM radio
1. Fully extend theFM aerial (10).
2. Switch theradio on and press [
SOURCE ] again to select FM radio as theplayback
source. “FM” appears on thedisplay.
3. Press [
] or [ ] repeatedly in quick succession to select theradio frequency. You can also
hold in one of thebuttons until theradio starts to scan for thenearest radio station up or
down thefrequency band. Release thebutton once theradio has begun to scan.
4. When theradio has found astation and you wish to change to another station, you can hold
in one of thebuttons again to search again.
5. Set thedesired volume using [
] or [ ].
6. Change theangle of theaerial or move theradio if thereception is poor.
