Battery insertion
1. Slide thebattery cover in thedirection of thearrow and then lift it.
2. Connect thewires to theterminals of a9V battery.
3. Insert thebattery into thebattery compartment with theterminals at
thebottom. Note: Make sure that thebattery wires are not crushed
beneath thebattery.
4. Refit thebattery cover.

Preparations for measuring
1. Press [ ] (4) to switch themeter on.
2. Press [
] to select theunit of temperature, °C or °F.
3. Press [
] (7) therequired number of times to select thematerial
type which corresponds to theobject that you are about to measure.
- M1: Hard woods (ash, oak, teak, etc.)
- M2: Medium-hard woods/materials (spruce, pine, hard building
boards/sheet materials, etc.)
- M3: Soft materials (cork, fibreboard, etc.)
- M4: Concrete
4. Remove theprobe cover (1).
Taking amomentary reading
1. Check that “SCAN” (14) and not HOLD (14) is showing on thedisplay.
If necessary, press [
] (5) to change from HOLD to SCAN.
2. Place themeter against thetest object and press theprobes (2) in as far as
you can. Note: Push theprobes in straight to avoid bending them.
3. Themoisture content reading will be shown in digits in themoisture content
value field (17) and also graphically by anumber of bars on thebar graph
(9). Note: Thereading will disappear as soon as themeter is removed from
thetest object.
