Battery insertion
1. Slide thebattery cover in thedirection of thearrow and then lift it.
2. Connect thewires to theterminals of a9V battery.
3. Insert thebattery into thebattery compartment with theterminals at
thebottom. Note: Make sure that thebattery wires are not crushed
beneath thebattery.
4. Refit thebattery cover.

Preparations for measuring
1. Press [ ] (4) to switch themeter on.
2. Press [
] to select theunit of temperature, °C or °F.
3. Press [
] (7) therequired number of times to select thematerial
type which corresponds to theobject that you are about to measure.
- M1: Hard woods (ash, oak, teak, etc.)
- M2: Medium-hard woods/materials (spruce, pine, hard building
boards/sheet materials, etc.)
- M3: Soft materials (cork, fibreboard, etc.)
- M4: Concrete
4. Remove theprobe cover (1).
Taking amomentary reading
1. Check that “SCAN” (14) and not HOLD (14) is showing on thedisplay.
If necessary, press [
] (5) to change from HOLD to SCAN.
2. Place themeter against thetest object and press theprobes (2) in as far as
you can. Note: Push theprobes in straight to avoid bending them.
3. Themoisture content reading will be shown in digits in themoisture content
value field (17) and also graphically by anumber of bars on thebar graph
(9). Note: Thereading will disappear as soon as themeter is removed from
thetest object.

Method 1 – HOLD
1. Follow theinstructions under Taking amomentary reading.
Note: Do not remove themeter from thetest object.
