The Clear Digital Evo is a semi-outdoor mobile digital signage unit, designed for displaying images and videos in a loop. It is identified by model EVO-401 and part numbers AAWA016 and AAWA009. The device consists of two main components: the AAWA016 Evo Display Unit and the AAWA009 Evo Battery Unit.
Function Description:
The Evo serves as a portable digital display solution, capable of showcasing multimedia content. It is designed for semi-outdoor use, meaning it should be placed in shaded areas and kept away from direct sunlight and strong heat sources. The device is water-resistant, offering protection against splashes and light rain (with pressure below 0.5 bar), but it is not intended for use where seawater is accessible. Content is loaded onto the screen via a USB flash drive, with the device rebooting to play the stored files in a continuous loop.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Model: EVO-401
- Part Numbers: AAWA016 (Evo Display Unit), AAWA009 (Evo Battery Unit)
- Charger: AAWA020 Charger Plug Pack 36V 160W
- Charging Time: Approximately 6 hours for a full charge.
- Run Time: 14+ hours on a full charge.
- Water Resistance: Protects against sudden water splashes and light rain (below 0.5 bar pressure). Not suitable for direct sunlight or seawater exposure.
- Tool Required for Assembly: Hex Head Allen Key 5mm.
Usage Features:
- Assembly: The display unit is mounted onto the battery unit. This involves removing four screws from the display unit, hooking the battery unit's brackets into the display unit's slot holes, connecting a wiring harness cable (ensuring a "click" sound for proper insertion), and then re-tightening the four screws. Finally, the device is lifted upright by its handle.
- Wheel Locking/Unlocking: The Evo features lockable wheels for stability. To lock a wheel, a locking pin is pushed in until a click is heard, possibly requiring a slight rotation of the wheel. To unlock, a key is inserted into the lock, turned 90 degrees to push out the locking pin, then turned back 90 degrees, and finally removed.
- Powering On: To power on the device, the battery isolation switch (located on the side of the Battery Unit) must be set to the "On" position. Then, the On/Off button (located on the top of the Display Unit) is pressed and held until its color changes from red to blue.
- Powering Off: To power off, the power button on the Supervisor module is pressed and held for 2 seconds and then released. It is then pressed and held a second time until its color changes from blue to red. For storage or transport, the battery isolation switch should be moved to the "Off" position.
- Charging: The Evo can be charged while it is in use and the display is on. The charging process takes approximately 6 hours for a full charge, providing over 14 hours of run time.
- Content Loading:
- Ensure the Battery Isolation Switch is ON and the ON/OFF button on the control panel is pressed.
- Prepare a USB flash drive with desired images and videos. Content should be in supported formats and placed in the root directory of the flash drive (not in folders).
- Insert the flash drive into the USB port at the back of the display.
- Follow on-screen instructions. The screen will indicate the number of files being copied. Note: All existing files on the unit will be deleted during this process.
- Once copying is complete, the screen will reboot and begin playing the stored files in a continuous loop.
- Remove the flash drive after content loading is finished.
Maintenance Features:
- Condensation Management: In cases of rapid temperature changes causing condensation on the front glass, the Evo should be placed in a safe, dry location and turned ON. The heat generated from the display unit's operation will typically dissipate the condensation.
- Environmental Considerations: The device is designed for semi-outdoor use, emphasizing placement in shaded areas and protection from direct sunlight and excessive heat. While water-resistant, it should not be exposed to seawater.
