Welcome to your new ClimeMET CM9088 Forecast Station. To make setup as easy as possible, follow our
guide below. You can then refer to the manual for additional functionality.
Setting the Time
The first step is to ensure the time you are seeing on the console is correct. This unit picks up the DCF-77 Radio
Signal broadcast from just outside Frankfurt in Germany, and your CM9088 will synchronise to this signal once
a day to maintain accuracy. If you set the time manually, every time the radio signal is picked up, it will
overwrite your manual setting. For this reason, you should change the time zone, rather than the time.
The time zone should be set to 0 for the UK.
To change the Time Zone setting if needed, push and hold the SET key until the console beeps and the time is
replaced by a single flashing digit. This is your Time Zone value. While this is flashing, simply press the +’ or
'MIN/MAX' key (which works in this instance as -) to adjust this value as required. Again, Time Zone ‘0’ is
GMT, for use within the UK. Once you've changed this, don’t touch any buttons for around 30 seconds and it
will save this setting and revert to the home screen.
When you change the time zone from 1 to 0, the time displayed will instantly decrease by one hour.
However, please note that it may take several hours after changing the time zone for the CM9088 to pick up
the signal and adjust the time that is displayed to the current time.
Once this is set, it means that when the DCF-77 signal is received, your station will adjust the time accordingly
so that the time is always correct for your time zone.
Setting Sunrise and Sunset
We advise waiting until your station is displaying the
correct time before proceeding with setting the
sunrise and sunset.
You will next need to ensure that the Latitude and
Longitude values are accurate. It's possible to enter
these values in an incorrect format or the wrong way
round, but once entered correctly, your station will
adjust the sunrise and sunset times automatically.
Start by determining your co-ordinates. The best way
to do this is to use Bing Maps
(http://www.bing.com/maps/). Enter your post code
to quickly find your general location and then zoom in
using the + key. Right-click any point on the map to
view the co-ordinates. A small box should pop up on
the map stating ‘Coordinates’ followed by your
Latitude and Longitude. Latitude for the UK tends to
be between 50-58 North, and Longitude will range
from roughly 8 West to 1.7 East.
