SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. The motor is installed with the photoelectric encoder, and it’s not allowed to hit the
motor. And the user can’t disassemble the photoelectric encoder by himself; otherwise,
the relative position (zero position) between the encoder and the motor winding is
changed, which causes the motor out of running!
2. In the normal climate, measure the insulation resistance which the motor winding is
against with the case, by 500V megameter, and the value should NOT be less than 20
M
.
3. The motor and the drive should be connected correctly based on the manual to
guarantee the protective grounding stable and reliable.
4. The motor can run with load only after the motor is free of noise and vibration during
running from zero speed to the maximum speed in the dry run state.
5. During the motor running, it’s not allowed to touch the motor shaft and case.
6. Only the qualified person can adjust and maintain the motor.
7. It is forbidden to move the motor by dragging the wire (cable) or the motor shaft.
8. GSK does NOT take any responsibility for any change on the product by the user, and
the warranty bill becomes invalid.
All specifications and designs are subject to change without notice.
The incorrect connection and operation may cause the accident, so
before using and operating the motor, please read the manual carefully!

Usage Features

The manual emphasizes several critical usage features and safety precautions:

Safety Precautions:

  • Encoder Handling: The motor is equipped with a photoelectric encoder. It is strictly forbidden to hit the motor or disassemble the encoder, as this can alter the zero position between the encoder and motor winding, leading to motor malfunction.
  • Insulation Resistance: In normal climate conditions, the insulation resistance of the motor winding against the case must be measured with a 500V megameter and should not be less than 20 MΩ.
  • Correct Connection: The motor and drive must be connected correctly according to the manual to ensure stable and reliable protective grounding.
  • Dry Run Test: The motor should only run with a load after it operates without noise and vibration from zero to maximum speed during a dry run test.
  • Physical Contact: It is forbidden to touch the motor shaft or case while the motor is running.
  • Qualified Personnel: Only qualified personnel are permitted to adjust and maintain the motor.
  • Handling: The motor must not be moved by dragging its wires (cables) or the motor shaft.
  • Warranty: The manufacturer (CNCmakers) does not take responsibility for any user-made changes to the product, which will invalidate the warranty.

Running Conditions:

  • Altitude: Should not exceed 1000m. Performance may be affected by air cooling at higher altitudes.
  • Temperature: Environment temperature must be between -10°C and +40°C.
  • Humidity: Relative air humidity should be ≤90% (without condensation).
  • Voltage Stability: AC voltage value in steady state should be (0.85~1.1) times the rated voltage value.

Connection Modes:

  • Industrial (Aviation) Socket Type: Utilizes a standard industrial socket for connection.
  • Cable Direct Type: Features a direct cable connection.
  • Shaft End/Installation Configuration: Options include standard shaft end, special cylinder shaft end, special cone shaft end, or stepped motor installation configuration. Specific digit codes refer to detailed installation figures.

Encoder Types:

  • Incremental: 2500 p/r or 5000 p/r.
  • Incremental Split-type: 2500 p/r.
  • Absolute: 17bit (including Biss treaty and Smart-Abs treaty options).

Safe Brake:

  • An optional feature, typically DC24V, with specified torque and power ratings. The brake operates when the power supply (DC 0.9~1.1 × 24V) is OFF and disengages when power is supplied. Operation time is ≤0.1s.

Motor Winding and Encoder Connections:

  • The three-phase winding (U, V, W) and case (GND) are led out by a 4-core connector pin, connecting to the drive's main return circuit (U, V, W) and PE terminals.
  • The photoelectric encoder lead is a 15-core connector pin, with specific pin assignments for incremental and absolute encoder signals (A4 type, A4 I type, A4 II type). This connects to the drive's feedback signal CN2 plug.

Maintenance Features

Storage:

  • Environment: The motor should be stored in a room with a temperature range of -40°C to +55°C.
  • Humidity: Relative air humidity should not exceed 95%.
  • Cleanliness: The storeroom must be clean, well-ventilated, and free of corrosive gases.

Transportation:

  • Handling: The motor must be handled carefully, avoiding hits and impacts.
  • Chemicals: Corrosive substances (e.g., sour, alkali) should not be transported with the motor.
  • Protection: The motor should not be transported in the open and requires waterproof and dustproof measures to protect against rain, snow, and mechanical damage.

Protection:

  • IP Rating: The motor has an IP65 protection level, protecting against dust and water jets.
  • Liquid Contact: While protected, prolonged contact with liquids like cutting fluid or lubricant can cause malfunction or shorten service life due to their strong seepage force. Proper protection measures should be taken during installation to avoid liquid contact and soaking.
  • Cable Arrangement: Improper cable arrangement can lead to liquid accumulation at the connector, causing malfunction. The motor connector side should be oriented downwards or horizontally during installation. If an upside orientation is unavoidable, additional protection measures must be taken. If the connector is horizontal, the cable should be bent into a semi-circle drop shape before connection.

Warranty:

  • Duration: A 12-month free repair warranty is provided from the delivery date (based on the dispatch voucher), provided the motor is transported, stored, installed, debugged, and repaired according to the operation regulations. The warranty is void if the motor is damaged or cannot be used normally due to quality issues.
