2.1 Requirement:
Vessels that have to comply with the IMO SOLAS requirements should have two VHF´s with
DSC Class A installed, regardless of the sea area the vessel operates in. (NB: In Sea area A1
only one is required).
The enclosed table shows a simplified overview of the GMDSS requirements to SOLAS
vessels that the SAILOR product portfolio covers.
Please note: This is an overview. Local regulations may require different setups
3 The product: SAILOR 6222 VHF DSC Class A
The SAILOR 6222 VHF offers simplex/semi-duplex communication. One version including all
variants is available. This simplifies logistics. Because almost all VHFs used today are
simplex/semi-duplex, no duplex version has been developed.
The SAILOR 6222 VHF package includes everything needed for a standard installation,
whether it is a desk top installation or a flush mount installation in the bridge console.
