Changing the cover
To remove the cover
•
1 Open the battery door.
•
2 Press and lift to remove the cover.
To attach the cover
•
3 Place the cover over the upper part of the sound processor base unit. The
button should be visible through the cover opening.
•
4 Press down on the cover around the button until a “click” is heard.
•
5 Press down on the cover between microphone ports until a “click” is heard.
•
6 Close the battery door.
NOTE: Double check no gaps are present between the cover and the
base.
Attaching a Cochlear SoftWear Pad
NOTE: The Cochlear SoftWear Pad is optional.
If the patient experiences discomfort when wearing the processor, they can
attach this adhesive pad to the back of the processor.
NOTE: A stronger magnet might be needed after attaching a
Cochlear SoftWear Pad.
•
1 Peel off the single backing strip on the adhesive side of the pad.
•
2 Attach the pad to the back of the processor – press down firmly.
•
3 Peel off the two semicircle backing covers on the cushion side of the pad.
Changing the battery
The Osia 2 Sound Processor uses high power 675 (PR44) zinc air disposable
batteries designed for hearing implant use.
•
1 Hold the sound processor with the cover facing upwards.
•
2 Open the battery door until it is completely open.
•
3 Remove the old battery. Dispose of the battery according to local
regulations.
Remove the new battery from the pack. Remove the sticker on the + side
of the new battery and let it stand for a few seconds.
•
4 Insert the new battery with the + sign facing upwards in the battery door.
•
5 Gently close the battery door until it is completely closed.
CAUTION: The sound processor must only be powered by a high
power 675 (PR44) Zinc-Air battery for hearing implant use. If a
standard 675 battery is used, the device will not function./
