Checking the oil level/changing the oil
Important: Always get someone to help you change/check theoil. Itwill be easier and safer if two
people are involved and can assist eachother.
The first oil change should take place after 50 hours of operation and thereafter after every 250 hours of operation.
Checking the oil level
1. Remove thewheeled left support legs and stand
thelog splitter on its end as shown in thepicture.
3. Unscrew thedipstick and wipe itclean.
Insert thedipstick into theoil cylinder but do not screw iton. Remove thedipstick and check theoil
level. Theoil level should be between thetwo grooves on thedipstick.
4. Screw thedipstick back inagain. Donot overtighten thedipstick, doing so could damage theseal.
2. Make sure that thearea around theoil dip-
stick is clean and free from dust and debris.
