If the log jams
Care, maintenance and storage
Always unplug themains lead from thewall socket before any servicing or cleaning.
Clean all theparts of thelog splitter with abrush and dryrags.
Always unplug thelog splitter and store it in adry, clean and non-corrosive environment out of children’s
reach whenever it is not inuse. Makesure that thestorage temperature does not fall below −25 °C.
Make sure that thebleed screw is closed before thelog splitter is moved or put away, otherwise oil could
leakout. Ifthebleed screw is left open when thelog splitter is stored away, theoil will absorb moisture from
theair which can lead to corrosion within thehydraulic system.
The splitting wedge should be kept sharp by filing it regularly with afine-toothedfile.
Stop thelog splitting operation.
When theram has returned to thestar-
ting position: place awooden wedge
under thejammedlog.
Start thelog splitter and force thewedge
under thelog using theram.
Repeat theprocedure with alarger
wedge if necessary.
Important: Never try to dislodge alog
which is under tension, it could split and fly
off with great force and damage thelog split-
ter or cause aninjury.
