Changing the oil
1. Follow steps 1 and 2 in theChecking theoil level sectionabove.
2. Suction out theoil using anoil suctionpump. Taketheused oil to your local household recycling site for
safe disposal.
3. Replace theold oil with new oil (3.2 litres of hydraulic oil).
4. Check theoil level and screw thedipstick back onagain. Donot overtighten thedipstick, doing so
could damage theseal.
Troubleshooting guide
The log doesn’tsplit. • Log improperly positioned. Turnthelog
around or rotateit.
• The log is too big or toohard.
• The wedge is blunt or damaged. Sharpen
thewedge (refer to theCare, maintenance and
storage section).
• Oil pressure low, check theoil level (refer to
theCare, maintenance and storage section).
The hydraulic ram moves jerkily,
makes strange noises
and vibrates heavily.
