Changing the oil
1. Follow steps 1 and 2 in theChecking theoil level sectionabove.
2. Suction out theoil using anoil suctionpump. Taketheused oil to your local household recycling site for
safe disposal.
3. Replace theold oil with new oil (3.2 litres of hydraulic oil).
4. Check theoil level and screw thedipstick back onagain. Donot overtighten thedipstick, doing so
could damage theseal.
Troubleshooting guide
The log doesn’tsplit. • Log improperly positioned. Turnthelog
around or rotateit.
• The log is too big or toohard.
• The wedge is blunt or damaged. Sharpen
thewedge (refer to theCare, maintenance and
storage section).
• Oil pressure low, check theoil level (refer to
theCare, maintenance and storage section).
The hydraulic ram moves jerkily,
makes strange noises
and vibrates heavily.
