Section 9 - Changing Car Seat Use Position (Rear-facing and Forward-facing)

To change to rear-facing position:
1. Move rotation lever into unlocked position (fig. a).
2. Lift and hold recline lever up .
3. Slide seat back and up .
4. Rotate and lock seat into rear-facing position (fig. b).
NOTE: Arrows on sides of seat MUST point
toward rear of vehicle when rear-facing.
If seat does not rotate into rear-facing position,
check that:
• Seat back is not contacting vehicle headrest.
• Harness shield is properly secured and shoulder
harness straps are properly stored.
• Vehicle seat belt or LATCH is routed through
belt path channel in base.
• Car seat MUST be locked in position when vehicle is in motion.
• NEVER travel with seat facing to the side. Seat MUST always be locked in the rear-facing
or forward-facing position.
• When rear-facing, infant MUST face the rear of the vehicle.

To change to forward-facing position:
1. Lift and hold recline lever (fig. c).
2. Rotate seat into the forward-facing position (fig. d).
3. Slide seat down and lock into position (fig. e).
4. Check that seat is locked in position (fig. e).

• Steel pins in base MUST be through slots in seat
and fully engaged when seat is forward-facing.
