Overview

The Comfort Zone 18" Oscillating Stand Fan is designed for indoor residential and office use, providing cooling and air circulation. It features a high-performance blade and safety grilles, ensuring efficient and safe operation. The fan is equipped with a patented Fast Assembly Quad-Pod® Folding Base (US Pat. No D643230 and D646501), which simplifies setup and storage.

Function Description:

This fan operates by circulating air through its oscillating head, providing wide-area oscillation to cool a larger space. It includes an ON/OFF switch with three-speed settings (LOW, MED, HIGH) to adjust airflow intensity according to user preference. The fan also features an adjustable height and vertical tilt, allowing users to direct the airflow precisely where needed. The oscillation function can be activated or deactivated using the Oscillation Control Knob located above the motor housing. Pressing the knob down starts oscillation, and pulling it up stops it.

Usage Features:

To operate the fan, first ensure it is placed on a stable, level, non-combustible surface. Unfold the patented Quad-Pod® base legs for stability. Place the decorative Plastic Flange over the Extension Pole to cover the base, then slide the pedestal pole into the base receptacle and tighten the nut to secure it. Loosen the collar nut and pull the Chrome Extension out of the Fan Pedestal to adjust the fan's height.

For assembly of the fan head, attach the Control Panel/Motor assembly onto the Chrome Extension and tighten the thumbscrew. Next, remove the Blade Cap by twisting it CLOCKWISE while holding the metal shaft tightly (note: threads are reversed, so unscrewing is clockwise). Thread the Locknut onto the Motor Housing to secure the Rear Grille in place. Assemble the Rear Grille onto the Motor Housing, ensuring it fits into the pins on the motor housing.

Before installing the fan blade, remove any protective covering over the shaft. Place the Fan Blade onto the Motor Shaft, making sure the pin on the Motor Shaft fits into the slots of the Fan Blade. Thread the Blade Cap onto the threaded end of the Motor Shaft, tightening counter-clockwise (note: threads are reversed). Finally, attach the Front Grille to the Rear Grille by inserting the Front Grille onto the Slotted Bottom Clip first, then pressing the remaining Grille Clips onto the Front Grille to securely attach it. It is crucial not to operate the fan without the grille in place.

Once assembled, plug the fan directly into a 120 volt A.C., 60 Hz wall outlet, ensuring the plug fits tightly to prevent overheating. To start the fan, press the desired speed button (1-LOW, 2-MED, or 3-HIGH). To turn off the fan, press the 0-OFF button. Always unplug the fan when not in use, when moving it, or before assembling/disassembling parts, and before cleaning.

The fan is equipped with overload protection (fuse). If the fuse blows, indicating an overload or short-circuit, unplug the product from the outlet. To replace the fuse, grasp the plug and remove it from the receptacle. Open the fuse cover by sliding it open on top of the attachment plug towards the blades. Carefully remove the old fuse using a small tool, taking care not to break the glass window. Replace it with an identical 2.5 or 5.0 Amp, 125 Volt fuse (3.6mm x 10mm), ensuring it is properly seated. Close the fuse cover by sliding it back to its original closed position. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present, and the product should be discarded or returned to an authorized service facility.

Maintenance Features:

Before cleaning, always disconnect the power cord from the plug. Clean the grille surface with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical or abrasive cleaners. Never immerse the fan or any wires in water. Ensure the front grille is replaced before using the fan again and allow it to dry completely. Regular grille cleaning with a vacuum cleaner helps prevent dust buildup. The motor is sealed and does not require any interior maintenance, cleaning, or lubrication, as the internal motor bearings are permanently lubricated at the factory.

For storage, keep the original carton. Coil and tie the power cord to prevent damage during storage. Do not operate the fan with a damaged power cord or plug, or if it malfunctions, has been dropped, or is damaged in any way, including a broken blade, safety cage, or any visual imperfections. Disconnect power before servicing. For repairs covered under warranty, refer to the warranty statement. For other repairs, contact Comfort Zone® Customer Service.
