When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective
system board and installed on the replacement system board:
RTC battery (see
RTC battery on page 56)
WLAN module (see
WLAN module on page 59)
Memory modules (see
Expansion memory module on page 61 and Primary memory module
on page 65)
WWAN module (see
WWAN module on page 66)
Processor (see
Processor on page 74)
Remove the system board:
1. Position the computer with rear panel toward you.
2. Remove the four Phillips PM2.0×3.0 broad-head screws (1) and the two hex HM5.0×9.0 screw
locks (2) that secure the system board bracket to the base enclosure.
3. Remove the system board bracket (3).
4. Position the computer with the front toward you.
5. Disconnect the Bluetooth module cable (1) and the modem module cable (2) from the system
board.
NOTE: Step 6 applies only to computer models not equipped with WWAN capability.
