Overview

The Controls, Inc. Pump Display & Control Panel, model MVP-62350, is a sophisticated monitoring and control unit designed for J1939 engines. This device serves as a comprehensive interface for engine parameters, alarms, and operational settings, offering both display and control functionalities.

Function Description:

The primary function of the MVP-62350 is to provide a centralized interface for J1939 engine management. It communicates with the engine's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to display real-time engine information, annunciate alarms, and allow for configuration of various operational parameters. The panel is capable of reading and displaying standard SPN.FMI trouble codes broadcast by the engine ECU, along with a descriptive text on its LCD screen. It also features LED indicator lamps for visual alarm annunciation (Yellow Lamp for general alarms, Red Lamp for engine shutdowns).

Beyond basic monitoring, the panel incorporates its own set of configurable engine safety alarms and shutdowns, which are managed directly by the control panel itself. These include checks for fuel level, oil pressure, temperature, battery voltage, and overspeed conditions. The panel also supports digital inputs for external signals like E-Stop, throttle up/down, and other custom functions, as well as relay outputs for controlling external devices based on predefined events, such as fuel run, preheat, or general alarm conditions.

The device is designed to handle engine de-rate and shutdown commands originating from the engine ECU when parameters are outside normal operating ranges. It acts as a trouble code reader, displaying both active and stored engine ECU codes, along with their descriptions and occurrence counts.
