Overview

This document describes the Cooke & Lewis CL60CGRF cooker hood, an appliance designed for installation on a wall. It can be configured for either ducted extraction to the outside (Option A) or recirculation with carbon filters (Option B).

Function Description:

The cooker hood features a four-button control panel for various operations:

  • Light On/Off: Controls the appliance's light independently of the fan motor. The light icon will be red when on, and white when the fan is in use and the light is off (turning red if the light is then switched on).
  • Fan On/Off and Speed Reduction: Pressing once turns on the fan at speed 1. All icons will light white, and the light icon will be red if the light is already on. Pressing and holding for two seconds turns off the fan motor from speed 1. If the motor is at a speed higher than 1, each press reduces the fan speed.
  • LED Display: Shows the extraction mode during setup (ducted or recirculation) and the motor speeds from 1-5, and 'P' for Boost.
  • Boost Function and Speed Increase: Pressing once turns on the fan motor at full power, with 'P' flashing on the display. If the motor is already at speeds 1-5, each press increases the fan speed. Pressing and holding for two seconds increases the fan speed to full power, with 'P' flashing.
  • Timer: When the fan motor is on and the Timer icon is pressed, the icon lights red, and the current speed flashes. The selected speed level operates for five minutes, then drops to the next lowest speed for two minutes. This cycle repeats every two minutes until speed 1 is reached, after which the fan turns off. If the light is on, it also turns off. Pressing the Speed Reduction or Speed Increase icons during a timer program restarts the countdown. Pressing the Timer icon again during a program cancels the cycle, reverts the icon to white, and keeps the fan at its current speed indefinitely. The maximum timer program cycle is 15 minutes (5 minutes on P, then 2 minutes each from speed 5 down to speed 1).

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Installation Type: Wall-mounted only.
  • Electrical Connection: Class I appliance, MUST be earthed. Requires direct connection to mains using an omnipolar circuit breaker with a minimum 3mm opening between contacts. Supplied with a 3-core mains cable (Brown = Live, Blue = Neutral, Green and Yellow = Earth).
  • Connectivity: Optional remote control function when paired with Cooke & Lewis Induction Hob model CLIND60RF (EAN 3663602553069).
  • Boost Function Duration: Full power or Boost mode operates for a maximum of five minutes to conserve energy, after which the fan speed automatically drops to level 5.
  • Filter Types: Carbon filters for recirculation mode (model CARBFILT4, replaced every three months) and aluminium grease filters (cleaned monthly).
  • Lamp Type: LED lamps, not replaceable by the consumer.

Usage Features:

  • First Use Setup: The appliance is factory-set for ducted extraction. To switch to recirculation mode, simultaneously press both Speed icons; the Timer icon will flash red. Use the Speed Increase icon to select recirculation and Speed Reduction to revert to ducted. Confirm by pressing both Speed icons again. This setup must be done within two minutes of switching on power.
  • Optimal Performance: For best results, leave the cooker hood on for up to 15 minutes after cooking.
  • Remote Control (with compatible hob): When paired with the CLIND60RF induction hob, the hob's power output controls the hood's extraction rate. The hood's speed level (1, 3, 5, P-Boost) is automatically selected based on the combined power output of the active cooking zones. Speeds 2 and 4 are not available in this mode. Manual override of hood controls in linked mode will operate the hood for five minutes on the manual setting before returning to hob control.
  • Stopping Connectivity: Touch the connectivity key on the hob to disable the link. If the hob is switched off, the hood continues in timer mode, reducing speed levels every two minutes until off.

Maintenance Features:

  • Carbon Filter Replacement: Recommended every three months for recirculation mode. The display will show a filter icon and the Timer will flash red after approximately 150 hours of fan operation to indicate replacement is needed. Reset the alert by pressing the Timer icon.
  • Aluminium Grease Filter Cleaning: Recommended monthly to prevent fires. Remove filters and soak in hot water and detergent for an hour. For dishwashers, position filters vertically. The display will show a filter icon and the Timer will flash red after approximately 50 hours of fan operation to indicate cleaning is needed. Reset the alert by pressing the Timer icon.
  • Filter Cleaning/Replacement Frequency: Increase frequency if the hood is used for more than 2 hours a day. Always use genuine filters.
  • Safety Precaution: Always switch off the electrical supply before carrying out any maintenance work on the hood.
  • Lamp Replacement: LED lamps are not user-replaceable. Contact customer service for an engineer visit if a lamp fails.

This appliance is designed to provide efficient extraction and recirculation for your kitchen, with user-friendly controls and clear maintenance indicators.
