Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the FP10258 Ice Maker, covering its function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The FP10258 Ice Maker is designed to produce ice cubes for household use. It operates by pumping water into an evaporator, where it freezes into ice cubes. The machine offers both manual and automatic water refill modes. In manual mode, water is added directly to the liner by pulling out a drawer. In automatic mode, the machine connects to a tap water inlet pipe and refills itself, provided the water pressure is within the specified range (100kpa~800kpa). The ice maker features a control panel with indicators for "Making Ice," "Ice Full," and "Add Water," as well as buttons for "Light," "Clean," and "Power." The "Light" button controls an internal light, while the "Clean" button initiates an automatic cleaning cycle. The "Power" button starts and stops the ice-making process.

The machine is not a refrigerator and does not have a heat-control function, meaning ice cubes may melt faster in high ambient temperatures. Users are advised to close the lid to maintain internal temperature or store ice cubes in a freezer if not used for a long time.

Usage Features

The ice maker is designed for ease of use with clear indicators and simple controls.

  • Starting the Unit:
    1. Place the water tray on the desktop and push it into the machine until it's secured between the two rubber seals.
    2. Connect the machine to a water source. For manual refill, pull out the drawer and add water to the liner, ensuring it doesn't exceed the "MAX" mark. For automatic refill, connect the tap water inlet pipe to the connector on the back panel and turn on the faucet.
    3. Plug in the power cord.
    4. Press the "POWER" button to start the ice-making process. The power light will flash, and the pump will begin operating.
  • Internal Light: Press the "LIGHT" button to turn the internal light on or off.
  • Stopping Ice Making: Press the "POWER" button again. The power indicator will flash, and the machine will enter a cleaning state. After 5 minutes, the motor and pump will stop, indicating cleaning is complete.
  • Water Level Indicator: If the "Add Water" indicator lights up, it means there is insufficient water in the liner. For manual mode, refill the drawer. For automatic mode, check if the faucet is turned down or if water pressure is too low.
  • Ice Full Indicator: When the "Ice Full" indicator lights up, the ice basket is full. Pull out the drawer, empty the ice, and then push the drawer back in. The indicator will automatically turn off, and ice production will resume.
  • Drawer Operation: To open the drawer, gently pull it until it catches, allowing it to hang at an angle. To close, lift it to a horizontal position and push it all the way in. To remove the drawer completely for cleaning, pull it out until it catches, then lift it at an angle and pull it out. Reinsert by tilting it at the same angle, placing the raised edge on the frame at the back, then leveling and pushing it in.
  • Air Outlet: Ensure the air outlet is unobstructed and at least 15 cm (6 inches) away from any barriers to ensure proper airflow.
  • Drainage: The water tray catches condensate. For cleaning, remove the drainage bracket from the back, pull it out, and empty the water from the pipe. Reinstall the bracket afterward. After cleaning, sewage is discharged from two drainage pipes (one from the top tank, one from the bottom). Plug the drainage pipe with a fitting and hang it on the back of the machine after draining.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the ice maker.

  • Initial Use/After Disuse: It is recommended to clean the machine before making ice for the first time or after a long period of disuse. Discard any ice cubes made within the first hour; ice made after one hour can be used.
  • Cleaning Frequency: Depending on usage habits, it is recommended to clean the ice maker at least once a week. Failure to do so can lead to scale accumulation, blocking the pump and causing the product to stop working.
  • Cleaning Procedure: Use lemon water or a solution of low-acid vinegar and water for cleaning. Immediately drain the machine after cleaning and rinse it with pure water. It is recommended to drain the water tank at least once every three days to maintain low water hardness, discharge impurities, and prevent scale buildup.
  • Automatic Cleaning: Long-press the "CLEAN" button for 3 seconds to enter automatic cleaning mode. The "CLEAN" button will light up, and the machine will perform an 8-minute cleaning cycle.
  • Water Quality: Cloudy ice cubes indicate turbid water quality. It is recommended to use only drinking water and distilled water. For severe water quality issues, consider installing a water filtration system on your faucet.
  • Prohibited Liquids: Do not use milk, juice, or other liquids besides water to make ice cubes. Particles in these liquids can block the pump and reduce its lifespan. Proteins in milk can calcify and react with the PU water pipe, causing damage.
  • Cleaning Agents: Do not use organic solvents, boiled water, detergent, strong acids, strong alkalis, or other harsh substances for cleaning.
  • Storage: Empty the water tank and dry it thoroughly before storing the ice maker if it will not be used for a long time.
  • Troubleshooting Noise: The machine will make a faint sound during operation. Closing the lid can reduce noise. If the water pump makes noise, turn off the machine, clean the filter in the water tank, and then restart to see if the noise disappears.
  • Troubleshooting Leaks: If water is leaking, the internal tube may have fallen off during transport. Remove the back cover and reconnect the tube. If unsure, contact a qualified technician.
  • Troubleshooting No Ice Production: If water flows but no ice is made, and ambient temperature and refrigeration pipe are normal, the refrigerant may have leaked. Contact a qualified technician.
  • Troubleshooting Small Ice Production: If ambient temperature or initial water temperature is too high, or if the evaporator column is deformed, ice production may be small. Allow the machine to make more rounds of ice, ensure the water temperature in the tank is not too high, or manually pull down the deformed evaporator column to restore its original state.
  • Troubleshooting Plastic Smell: If ice cubes smell of plastic, clean the inside of the machine with lemon water, run a few ice-making cycles (discarding the ice), and then rinse with distilled water.
  • Troubleshooting Sticking Ice Cubes: If ice cubes stick together, the room temperature or water temperature may be too low. Add water to increase the water temperature. If the problem persists, the evaporator may be sagged or deformed; manually push up the cubes.

Safety Precautions

  • Always read and obey all safety messages.
  • The appliance must be grounded and placed on a flat, even surface to prevent instability.
  • Do not operate the machine if the power cord is damaged.
  • Ensure the power socket has reliable grounding and the power plug is fully inserted. Do not cover the power cord, and never immerse it in water.
  • Avoid using extension cords, as they can cause overheating or fire. If necessary, use an extension cord at least 59 inches long.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult when using the machine.
  • Do not use flammable liquids to clean the ice maker, as this may cause fire or explosion.
  • Turn off the power and unplug the machine before cleaning or repairing it.
  • Keep all small parts and packaging materials away from babies and children due to choking hazards.
  • In case of return, the item must be returned in its original box. Take photos of box markings and any damaged parts for claims.
