Why won't my Craftsman 247.203702 Lawn Mower engine start?
    • B
      Brian RothAug 3, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine won't start, several factors could be at play. Make sure the PTO/Blade Engage lever is disengaged (OFF). The parking brake should be engaged. Check that the spark plug wires are securely connected. Ensure the Throttle/Choke control lever is in the FAST position, or move it to the Choke position to activate the choke. The fuel tank should be filled with fresh gasoline (less than 30 days old), and the fuel line and filter should be clear. Inspect the spark plugs—clean, adjust the gap, or replace them if needed. If the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position. Finally, check and replace any blown fuses.

How to fix an uneven cut with my Craftsman 247.203702?
    • S
      Sharon CarterAug 7, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower is producing an uneven cut, it might be due to a few reasons. Ensure the deck is leveled properly by performing a side-to-side deck adjustment. A dull blade can also cause an uneven cut, so sharpen or replace it. Lastly, check the tire pressure in all four tires to ensure they are even.

Why is my Craftsman 247.203702 Lawn Mower engine running erratically?
    • S
      Sara ArmstrongAug 11, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine is running erratically, try these steps: First, deactivate the CHOKE. Ensure the spark plug wires are firmly connected. If the fuel line is blocked or the fuel is stale, replace the fuel line, fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline, and replace the fuel filter. Check the gas cap vent and clear it if it's plugged, or replace the cap if damaged. Drain the fuel tank and refill with clean, fresh gasoline if there's water or dirt in the fuel system. Finally, replace the air cleaner paper element or clean the foam pre-cleaner, if your mower has one.

Why is my Craftsman Lawn Mower engine overheating?
    • C
      christineberryAug 16, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine is overheating, ensure the engine oil level is adequate. Fill the crankcase with the correct amount and weight of oil. Also, check for any restrictions to airflow around the engine. Clean any grass clippings and debris from around the engine’s cooling fins and housing.

Why does my Craftsman Lawn Mower engine idle rough?
    • N
      Nicholas ScottAug 20, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine idles roughly, start by checking the spark plug. Replace it if it's fouled or faulty, and ensure the plug gap is correctly set. Also, inspect the air cleaner. Replace the air cleaner element and/or clean the pre-cleaner if it's dirty.

    Bradley DanielsAug 25, 2025
What to do if my Craftsman 247.203702 Lawn Mower will not mulch grass?
    • C
      Christine BellAug 25, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower isn't mulching grass effectively, make sure the throttle is in the FAST (rabbit) position for optimal engine speed. Avoid mulching when the grass is wet. If the grass is excessively high, mow once at a high cutting height, then mow again at your desired height, or reduce the cutting swath. A dull blade can also hinder mulching, so sharpen or replace it as needed.
  • S
    Sarah MendozaAug 28, 2025
Why does my Craftsman Lawn Mower have excessive vibration?
    • J
      Jonathan WillisAug 28, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower is vibrating excessively, check if the cutting blade is loose or unbalanced. Tighten the blade and spindle. Also, inspect the cutting blade for any damage or bending; replace it if necessary.
